Found March 21, 2013 on Turn On The Knicks:
On February 22, I posted an article comparing the advantages of age and experience versus those of youth and athleticism that has been so applicable to the New York Knicks all season. Now, just one month later, it is time to revisit that debate because in the case of the 2012-2013 Knicks it appears that the issue may be more clear. To refresh your memory, this Knicks team is the oldest in NBA history, coming into the season with an average age on the roster of 32 years and 240 days. The team’s roster includes, 40-year old forward, Kurt Thomas, 39-year old point guard, Jason Kidd and 38-year olds, center, Marcus Camby and power forward, Rasheed Wallace. Since the beginning of the season the team has gotten even older signing 35-year old Kenyon Martin, the 2000 NBA Draft’s first-overall selection. During the Knicks 18-5 start to the season there was nobody opposing the decision to bring on so many veterans but then the downfalls of age started to rear its ugly head. Since that hot st...

Tale of Two Seasons for Steve Novak

Steve Novak probably wishes he could turn back time. One would be lying to themselves if they felt as if he was having the same type of quality season he had last year. A season which saw a very productive 8.8 PPG and an astounding 48% FG percentage, including a league best 47% from beyond the arc. This year, the word that comes to mind first when thinking of Steve Novak, is inconsistency...

Fashion Glance: Knicks head coach Mike Woodson in an interesting shirt

Knicks star JR Smith decided to share his head coach Mike Woodson‘s off court attire. Smith snapped this photo on the team’s charter flight and posted it to his Instagram. Looks like coach Woodson wants to bring the polka dot era back for men. He completes the look with dad jeans à la Michael Jordan. If the Knicks don’t pull it together, one has to wonder will Mike Woodson...

The New York Knicks Are Dark, And Full Of Terrors

If there’s one thing fans of ‘Game Of Thrones’ love, it’s dubstep. And if there’s one thing fans of dubstep love, it’s Carmelo Anthony. Not sure how Carmelo Anthony fans and ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans relate, but I’m going to assume there’s a 100% overlap. So … yeah, ‘Game Of Thrones’ season 3 premieres on HBO on March 31, and nothing has gotten me hyped quite...

Knicks 99, Raptors 94

Carmelo Anthony scored 37 points, Kenyon Martin had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and the New York Knicks clinched a playoff berth with a 99-94 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. Patrick Ewing Says Knicks Aren’t Good Enough To Dethrone The Heat

Patrick Ewing never won an NBA title as a New York Knick in large part to the presence of Michael Jordan.  Ewing who still follows his former franchise closely, thinks Carmelo Anthony will suffer the same fate because of LeBron James. Ewing told ESPN New York that the Knicks are not good enough to beat and dethrone the Heat for an NBA championship. “I don’t think anybody’s...

Knicks-Raptors Preview

The New York Knicks were relieved to see Carmelo Anthony playing like his usual self after he missed some time with an injury. With a sorely depleted frontcourt, they'll likely need Anthony at his best as they continue to pursue the Atlantic Division title. A home-and-home set against the struggling Toronto Raptors could help their cause, with the first meeting coming in Toronto...

Magic can't mellow Knicks, reserves too little, too late

It was the first possession of the game. New York had the floor spread with all the shooters that make the team so dangerous and the team's most dangerous weapon in the lineup after missing six of the previous eight games. Orlando's defense knew it was going to have a difficult night. Anthony gave a preview of that difficulty as the ball whipped all the way around...
