Phoenix Suns fans made it clear during the last game of the season that they want Steve Nash to finish out his career with them. The “We Want Nash” chants and all the signs were a heartwarming sight, but unfortunately sentimentality doesn’t always get you what you want. The Suns have a lot of decisions to make this summer, and they may be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nash has said if the organization wants him to stick around, they need to make some upgrades. "I think the team could use more playmakers," he said. "It depends on your strategy. You could go for bigs. You could go for a consistent 20-a-game scorer. Or you could go for a few more playmakers are different positions. The team and the club need to really analyze what their philosophy is moving forward and put a contingency plan together to build the best team. It'll be an interesting period." It’s not an unreasonable request for the two-time MVP. Nash only has a couple years left to pla...

Suns fans show Nash love in possible finale

PHOENIX -- A season that encouraged Phoenix Suns fans to absorb constant reminders regarding the proper time to rise and put on their game faces concluded Wednesday night with an unsanctioned recommendation. Despite the lack of official billing, it was easy to consider the otherwise meaningless -- but brutally ironic -- date with the San Antonio Spurs as an appropriate time to rise...

Steve Nash’s Girlfriend Watches Him Play Last Game as a Phoenix Sun

We need a fresh start T... Phoenix Suns fans hope this won’t be the last they’ll see of Steve Nash, who is scheduled to become a free agent this summer. Steve gave his girlfriend Brittany Richardson a smooch after he played his final game of the season. If we remember correctly, Nash had an affair with the 22 year old girl, while his wife was pregnant — Of course there’s...

Suns must face possibility of future without Nash

Someday, the Phoenix Suns knew, they would face a future without Steve Nash. That day may well have come. After eight often-spectacular seasons, including two MVP awards, at the controls of the Phoenix offense, Nash is a free agent and plans to examine his options through the summer. He has no desire to spend his final NBA years on a struggling, rebuilding team. And for their part...

Standing ovation for Steve Nash

If you missed the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs game last night, you also missed this poetic, endearing, heart-warming standing ovation that Steve Nash received from Phoenix. The Suns were eliminated from a possible post season, Tuesday, when the Jazz defeated them and it was last week that Steve Nash surpassed the great Oscar [...]

Starting 5: Nash's swan song?, Knicks pitch to Phil Jackson & What Kobe needs to pass KD

Every morning, we'll give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1:  Nash goes out with a loss We're not sure what's going to happen to Steve Nash after this season (more on that later today), but if this was his last game in Phoenix, it was an unceremonious exit.   In just under 18 minutes, Nash finished with eight points and seven...

Steve Nash Is a Little Teapot, Short and Stout (Caption Contest)

Steve Nash will be remembered for being one of the best point guards in the NBA. However, after this photo was taken, fans may not be able to take the Suns guard too seriously. Check out Thursday's #NESNcaption winners below. Mike McIsaac I'm a little teapot short and stout Rob Woodworth Nobody look! I can't go when you stare! Alex Joseph Hachey Hate these outdoor games...

On Steve Nash, the potential end of an era, and similarities to Kevin Garnett

Steve Nash didn’t play his entire career with the Phoenix Suns. He actually sucked, at least relative to what he would become, during his first stint in Arizona. Nobody saw a future MVP blooming when a rookie Nash averaged just 3.3 points and 2.1 assists per game in 1996-97. Nobody foresaw that 15 years into the future, the entire city, or at least so it seemed, would stand on...

Spurs reserves top Suns as Nash takes a bow

PHOENIX (AP) -- Patty Mills scored 27 points and the depleted San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix 110-106 on Wednesday night in a game overshadowed by the fact it could have been Steve Nash's last in a Suns uniform. The crowd stood and chanted "We want Nash" with about 5 minutes to go, leading coach Alvin Gentry to put the 38-year-old point guard in the game for a few plays...

Nothing to see here, just a guy holding a penis sign during Suns’ postgame show (vid)

The best/worst part? How at the beginning of this particular Phoenix Suns postgame segment — which just so happened to be following quite possibly the last game Steve Nash plays as a member of the team — the penis sign is way on the other side of the crowd from the two signs which bear [...]

Congrats to Rajon Rondo on winning league assists crown

Last night Steve Nash took the court for possibly the last time in a Suns uniform. The game also had added significance as unless Nash finished with over 60 assists in the game, the 2011/2012 assists crown was going to Rajon Rondo. Nash collected 7 assists. The assists crown is a pretty exclusive group. Over the past 29 years, John Stockton won it 9 times, Magic Johnson 4 times...
