Dwyane Wade called Rajon Rondo's hard foul in the opener a "punk play" and said that only knowing his children were watching kept him from retaliating. Today after practice, Rondo talked a little about the foul although he wouldn't say too much, asking the reporters if they were trying to get him a fine. But he did say at the end of the interview, "I mean, I don't think it was a hard foul," said Rondo. "[Wade] sold it a little bit, and that's basketball. They were up, he drove to the hole, I didn't want to give up a layup. Simple as that. I didn't yank him down, or, dirty plays that you've seen him play in the past. So that's what it is." I'm sure that Rondo was thinking back to that play in 2011 where Wade threw him down, dislocating his elbow. But that's just one play where Wade played dirty. His resume is loaded with dirty plays or, as he would say, "punk plays." Except, when he makes a punk play, unfortunately, others get hurt. I mean, who breaks a guy's nose in an ALL STAR GAME??? Here's a short compilation of Wades recent "punk plays." Like the comment on the video says: "It's getting to the point where he's just becoming a dirty player. It's happened too many times."    I wonder if his kids watched all of those punk plays, and the dozens of others that he's committed over the years.   And yet, he has the nerve to whine about a foul that wasn't really that bad and that he had to sell a bit.     Doc agrees: Appearing Thursday on Boston sports radio WEEI, Rivers noted that Wade has "given a lot of hard fouls" in his career and pointed out that Rondo's gruesome elbow injury during the 2011 playoffs was "created by Dwyane Wade." Doc also said that he likes Rondo's fire and wants him to keep playing with that fire.  I agree with Doc, except I called it swagger.  [Discuss on CG Forums!]

Video: Rajon Rondo is not a happy camper

Rajon Rondo isn’t an unnecessarily cheery guy. I’m not saying he doesn’t smile or that he never seems happy, but he doesn’t really ever come across as the kind of person who would help make the locker room a more vibrant place, certainly not after a loss like tonight’s. So when I say “Rondo seems even more depressed and subdued than usual,” please understand it’s...

Video: Rondo & Doc talk after Thursday's practice

Here are a few videos from Thursday's practice via WEEI's Mike Petraglia. Rajon Rondo tries not to get fined in his interview and Doc reflects on the opening night loss.

Real or not, this picture of Rajon Rondo and a girl wearing a “LeBron is a ******** shirt is fantastic

It’s real and it’s spectacular. The fellas over at Lob Shots posted this pic earlier today of Celtics guard Rajon Rondo posing with a lovely young lady sporting a “LeBron is a ******** t-shirt, and they were questioning the veracity of the photo. While I don’t profess to be an expert at recognizing a photoshopped pic when I see one, it would really take a lot to convince...

Rajon Rondo Fires Back At Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade recently called out Rajon Rondo and said that he made a “punk play” on him during the season opener between the Heat and Celtics.  Well, today at practice Rajon Rondo took his turn to fire back at Wade.  Rondo called “I mean, I don’t think it was a hard foul,” said Rondo. “[Wade] sold it a little bit. That’s basketball. They were up, he drove to the hole...

The Dwyane Wade vs Rondo feud continues

The day after the Celtics vs Heat game, I wrote that Rondo needed to grow up, and end the petulant behavior that has almost become his trademark. Then I read that Wade called it a 'punk play.' That's fine, and I would have agreed with him. But these two have a history, and Wade may have only gotten what he has been giving.Turns out, Rondo has been on the receiving end...

Rondo a punk? Doc Rivers points to Wade injuring Rondo's elbow in response

Doc on Wade's "punk play" comment: "Don't forget about Rondo's elbow injury (in 2011 playoffs)…that was created by Dwyane Wade."— Boston Celtics (@celtics) November 1, 2012 Yeah, cause Dwyane Wade has never done a punk move in his life. Heat have mixed feelings about Friday's game

NEW YORK (AP) -- Dwyane Wade thinks the NBA should have postponed Miami's game at New York on Friday night, while LeBron James is "50-50" over whether the game should be played. With New York hit hard by Superstorm Sandy, the Knicks' game scheduled for Thursday in Brooklyn was postponed, and Heat players thought theirs would follow. Instead, they flew from Miami...

Time For Dwyane Wade To Take A Look In The Mirror

Editor’s Note: Guest writer Eddy DelSignore has gone been gone for a little while, but he simply couldn’t stay away after hearing Dwyane Wade’s hypocritical comments after Tuesday’s Celtics-Heat game.  Dwyane Wade is the dirtiest player in the NBA. There, I said it. It had to be said. So, when Dwyane Wade, the dirtiest player in the NBA, called the foul that Rajon Rondo...

Every NBA Team Has A Run In Them: A Non-Spastic Look At The Celtics

KG is all washed up. Rondo is a cancer and needs to be traded. Leondro Barbosa is the best 4th quarter player in the history of the game. Ray Allen will make the Celtics rue the day they let him go. LeBron James needs to drink more Gatorade if the Heat hope to make it back to the finals. All these ridiculous headlines need is a “why” in front of them and a slideshow. Then they...

Celtics' Heat hatred not all about Ray Allen

MIAMI -- Boston guard Rajon Rondo took out a Miami player. But it wasn't who you thought it might be. It wasn't Ray Allen, believed to be a traitor by some up north for bolting the Celtics last summer to join the Heat as a free agent. It was guard Dwyane Wade, who called Rondo a "punk" for clotheslining him in the final minute of Miami's 120-107 opening-night...

Wade calls Rondo’s flagrant foul a punk play

There was all kinds of bad blood on the court in Miami to open the NBA season last night. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, Rajon Rondo and the entire Miami Heat team. With that bad blood there was no lack of excitement. First there was Garnett giving Allen the cold shoulder when he attempted to greet him on the sidelines and then there was Rondo’s flagrant...

The NBA is BACK baby and so are the daily notes.  This morning, fantasy owners were greeted by their players with a trick or treat.  Oh LeBron James (26/10/3/2, 2 3PM), a snickers bar!  Thank you Rajon Rondo (20/7/14, 9-14 FG), I love butterfingers!  Kyrie Irving (29/6/3/0/1, 3 3PM), I can take two?!!  Uh Steve Nash (7/2/4/0/1, 1 3PM), a f*cking apple?  Are you joking me?...

Heat 120, Celtics 107

MIAMI -- LeBron James didn't appear tired, Dwyane Wade's knee looked just fine, and new addition Ray Allen came off the bench to give the Heat another potent threat. And just as importantly, Chris Bosh, Miami's sometimes forgotten star, delivered a big finish. On a night the Heat celebrated their 2011-2012 NBA title with a ring ceremony, their championship defense...
