On April 6, 2010 the New York Knicks defeated the soon to be Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics 104-101. It was a real exciting game for Knicks fans as they got big games from Danilo Gallinari and Earl Barron. Yes, that Earl Barron. The kid signed a 10 day contract and only played 7 games for the Knicks at the end of the season.Earl is a 7'0 250lb house that played pretty good in Coach D'Antoni's system. Barron put up nice numbers, averaging a double-double with 11.7 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. Those are respectable numbers for a guy that did not receive many minutes with his three year career in Miami prior to New York. Earl Barron decided to sign for the remainder of last season, but did not sign on for the 2011 season, making him a free agent. He's still looking for a team and the Knicks are still looking for depth at Center.
