Canada (or #canada, if you’re on the Internet) has had it rough lately. The NHL lockout is nowhere in sight. The NHLPA is considering decertification. Canada needs hockey. They can’t play anything else. Look at Toronto’s mayor, he can’t take a snap without tripping and falling flat on his face. Now he’s getting kicked out of office. See how that works?Canada’s next best option is to put all of their apples into the Toronto Raptors’ basket. They can find succor in the loving tweets of Raptors star player Amir Johnson, who did his best to appease the country’s sports-starved masses by doing the most Canadian thing ever:The only way that could’ve been more Canadian is if he’d played late night hoops with Bonhomme. And by the way, THIS is how sad the hockey situation is. We’re doing posts about Amir Johnson Instagram updates instead of Paulina Gretzky. She’s off somewhere aimlessly taking pictures of dogs.Anyway, because no Justin Bieber-related post can be complete without somebo
BEST OF MAXIM
Toronto Raptors forward Amir Johnson got some late night shots up with two of Canada’s favorite pop culture icons, Justin Bieber and Drake. I wonder what that conversation was like. Interesting to note, Bieber seems to be repping the Blazers. PS, I love Drake! photo via Instagram
So here we sit on Nov. 27th, 3-11 and at the bottom of the very talented Atlantic Division. Morale is low and with a stretch of road games coming up, the bleeding is not likely to stop.
Did the Raptors entire season turn with that first game loss to the Indiana Pacers? The way it is unfolding, quite possibly.
The Raptors should of won that game and the way they lost started a spiral...
Gregg Popovich was in rare form this afternoon while dealing with the media in Toronto. Trust me, this is instant Popovich as he takes great pleasure in toying with members of the media before a game against the Raptors.

Spurs 111, Raptors 106
***I’m not sure who’s been better at finding painful ways to lose lately, Toronto or Washington. In their previous game, the Raptors fell to the Bobcats at the buzzer… but the NBA has admitted that a last-second foul should’ve been called — a foul that would’ve sent Andrea Bargnani to the stripe with a second to go in a one-point game. Based...
The other day I bragged about how I could spell Valanciunas without looking and I spelled it wrong! Then I got called out by a reader. How embarrassing! In any event, yesterday Jonas Valanciunas dropped 22/7/3 with 3 blocks in 39 minutes. Yeah, sure it was a double overtime game but you had to like what you saw. On Friday JV posted 9/6/1 with 2 blocks in 31 minutes. The game before...
