MinneapolisSt. Paul The Minnesota Timberwolves assigned rookie guard Malcolm Lee to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Lee, acquired on draft night from the Chicago Bulls, has yet to appear in a regular season game for the Wolves after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on December 30.
Lee is expected to make his Skyforce debut on Tuesday vs. Dakota, the first of a five-game homestand for Sioux Falls.
Per NBA rules, a first- or second-year player can be assigned to the team's D-League affiliate a maximum of three times in a season.
