Since Yao Ming retired from the NBA, there was some speculation that he might enter the world of politics back home.
Well, those speculations have come to fruition as Yao has become a member of an advisory body:
Yao, 31, who had to retire from the NBA due to recurring foot problems, is now a member of an advisory body to Shanghai's legislature.
"There are about 142 members in the group, and Yao is the youngest," Kong Rong, who works in the service office of committee, told the China Daily.
Hopefully, politician Yao can have as big of an impact as Houston Rockets Yao.
