Zaza Pachulia scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Galatasaray beat Asseco Prokom 78-76 in Euroleague play on Thursday.Pape Sy has overcome a slow start for Gravelines-Dunkerque to score 69 points on just 38 shots in just 78 minutes over his last five league games. In two Euro Cup games, Sy has scored 25 points on 17 shots and grabbed 11 rebounds in just under 35 minutes. Sy has only played nine games for Gravelines-Dunkerque but it's been far and away the most productive stretch of his professional career and an encouraging sign for an Atlanta Hawks team that may lack options when filling out its roster.

Hawks' core still in place, ready for season

NBA teams still don't know their schedules and they're awaiting their marching orders from the league as the players continue the process of ratifying a new collective bargaining agreement that would end a five-month lockout. But if the players do ratify the agreement, as expected, operations could resume as quickly as Dec. 8, with regular season games beginning 17 days...

Atlanta Hawks: Jamal’s free-agent journey

According to Frank Isola of the Daily News in New York, Jamal prefers “returning to the New York area if he does not re-sign with the Atlanta Hawks.” Isola suggests that Jamal’s chances of signing with New York or New Jersey increased when he signed with agent Andy Miller, who “has close ties to both the Knicks’ and Nets’ organizations.” I’ve never followed the ...

Jamal Crawford – A Knick Again?

If Jamal Crawford has his way he would be playing at Madison Square Garden as a member of the New York Knicks for the 2011-12 season. Now will that happen, ummmm I think it’s unlikely. Crawford is another one lobbying himself to teams. A source close to him that if he doesn’t return to the Atlanta Hawks he would prefer getting back to the NYC area. Crawford is one of the top...

Atlanta Hawks: No magical relief for Hawks in CBA

SI.com’s Sam Amick obtained details of the principal agreement between NBA owners and whatever-the-current-union-group-is-called. The full document is here. It looks like the cap and tax levels will remain about the same: $58 million and $70 million, respectively. As noted previously, this doesn’t leave the Hawks much room to add salary below the tax threshold since they have...

Amnesty Options for the Atlanta Hawks

Assuming the new CBA gets ratified by both players and owners, it will contain the following amnesty provision: Each team permitted to waive 1 player prior to any season of the CBA (only for contracts in place at the inception of the CBA) and have 100% of the player’s salary removed from team salary for Cap and Tax purposes.Salary of amnestied players included for purposes of calculating...

Previously: Marvin Williams, Jason Collins, Jamal Crawford, Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Rick Sund, Larry DrewEven though he played better in his second season than he did in his rookie campaign, Jeff Teague could not turn competent performances into consistent playing time.
