BYRON MULLENS RUMORS

POTD 4/7/12: Byron Mullens on Zaza Pachulia

Back in January, BJ Mullens seemed to be showing a lot of promise.  He was coming off the bench stroking the jump shot, providing a nice offensive boost for a Bobcat team that has always struggled to put points on the board.  Things didn’t go so smoothly after he was inserted into the starting lineup, though.  His jumper stopped falling like it had been, and other problems...

Trade Street Presents - Byron Mullens

Now I know for a fact that there was some folks that, as this shortened season started, asked why the Bobcats were trading a second round draft pick for this Mullens guy from the Oklahoma City Thunder that has averaged 5.3 minutes per game. To that, Trade Street Post has responded with, "In Cho we trust." Don't tell anybody, but we were actually kinda wondering the...

Mullens had only scored 39 points in 26 games during his two seasons with the Thunder, so he understood the criticism in Charlotte when the Bobcats sent a 2013 second-round pick to the Thunder to get him. ''When I got traded here a lot of people were kind of upset and saying, `Why did we trade...

Mullens' quick return on Bobcats trade

Fascinating little statistic on Byron Mullens, courtesy of the Charlotte Bobcats' media-relations department: Mullens scored nearly as many points in his first four games as a Bobcat as he did his previous two NBA seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder...

Byron Mullens' prison ball

When I read this story by Anna Katherine Clemmons about Byron Mullens' working on his game during the lockout at a medium security prison, I was reminded of my all-time favorite segment on "This American Life" from 2002. Prisoners at a high security facility in Missouri staged a production of "Hamlet" and, in the process, the actors realized how much their...
