Chicks in the Huddle:
New Orleans Saints
If someone had told me a week ago that, with under a minute left in the game, the Atlanta Falcons would have 1st and goal with an opportunity to win the game and it would be up to the New Orleans Saints poor, tired, beleaguered defense to stop them, I would have possibly either slapped them in the face for putting such a nightmare in my head or stabbed myself in the eyeballs to avoid watching how it would all unfold. Who could blame me though? These guys couldn’t stop a faucet from running last year. Their defense was the worst in NFL history. Rob Ryan might bring them some new swagger, but he’s not a miracle worker.
Or is he???
What happened in the final seconds of the Saints showdown with their bitter rival on Sunday stunned me in the best kind of way. I wouldn’t have believed it had I not been in the dome and seen it with my own weary, partly covered eyes. I even watched the replay on the big screen to make sure it was true. The Saints defense…pulled off a game winning g...

Atlanta Flacons wide receiver Roddy White is dealing with a high ankle sprain that he suffered during his team’s second preseason game. The team initially downplayed the injury, but White admitted after Atlanta’s loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday that the injury did indeed hamper him. He also warned his fantasy football owners […]
Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl safety Thomas DeCloud isn't hiding his feelings about how good the team's defense can be. The team has four former Pro Bowlers on the defensive side and they are hoping that fuels a rise in the defensive rankings in 2012.
The Atlanta Falcons have some of the most dynamic offensive players in the league.
Matt Ryan. Julio Jones. Roddy White. Tony Gonzalez. Steven Jackson.
It may not matter if they don't get better blocking up front.
Already a giant question mark coming into the season, the offensive linemen did nothing to alleviate those concerns in a 23-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week...
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons say Roddy White (ankle) will start Sunday against the Saints.Fantasy Spin:Schefter reported Sunday that the ankle injury White suffered during the preseason was actually a high-ankle sprain, but the Falcons have denied that. White has played in 128 of 128 games in his career and he looks ready to extend that streak, but he might...
Roddy White seemed a little agitated about some Fantasy flack he may have received after an unimpressive showing on Sunday. In two tweets White said
White gave some very sound advice. If coaches are holding him out of practice it speaks of some potential issues. Also keep in mind that Roddy White is aging at 31 he won’t heal as wuickly as he used to.

Multiple reports this morning are suggesting that Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is suffering from a high ankle sprain and his availability for this afternoon’s game against the New Orleans Saints is now in question. Jeff Darlington reports that White will see limited action while ESPN is reporting that he might be out of the lineup entirely.
White figured to play a...
Roddy White did his best to grit it out against the Saints in the Falcons season opening loss.
White who was nursing a severe high ankle sprain, wasn’t sure if he was going to actually play until a few minutes before kick off.
White admitted he was on a snap count of about 15-20 plays, which resulted in him having 2 catches for 19 yards. After starting his 129 consecutive game...
Atlanta Falcons Roddy White didn’t have his best game against the New Orleans Saints during yesterday’s season opener. A bothersome ankle sprain limited White to two catches and 19 yards, which equates to just one measly fantasy point in most leagues. When a player like White usually averages double digit fantasy numbers, such a drop in productivity is hard for most owners...
The Atlanta Falcons did something they had never done before in week one of the 2013 NFL season, and that was lose to the New Orleans Saints in an opening week match-up. The nastiest rivalry in the south lived up to it's reputation, as there were plenty of hits and bad blood, but the Falcons came up on the short end of a 23-17 score.
Coming out of the preseason, Falcons fans...
Just like last season, Matt Ryan had the Atlanta Falcons achingly close to a late go-ahead touchdown against New Orleans at the Superdome. Once again, they could not finish the deal.
Rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro deflected Ryan's fourth-down throw for tight end Tony Gonzalez into the hands of safety Roman Harper for the clinching interception in the end zone with 43 seconds left...
The 2013 season began for the Atlanta Falcons much the way their previous campaign ended: Coming up short on fourth down inside its opponents' 10-yard line with quarterback Matt Ryan under pressure. In January, the opponent was San Francisco and the failure to convert cost the Falcons a chance to advance to the Super Bowl. Eight months later, it was their most-hated foe, the New...
One of the basic keys to football is to keep the chains moving. If you do that, then your offense can stay on the field and get into a rhythm and the opposing defense gets tired. Last Sunday against the Saints, the Falcons weren't very good on third down on offense or defense.
On offense the Falcons were a paltry 27% (3 of 11) and on defense they allowed their opponents...
The Falcons have scratched starting cornerback Asante Samuel for Sunday's season opener against the New Orleans Saints.
Samuel had been listed as questionable with a right thigh injury. He's been replaced in the starting lineup by Robert McClain.
Meanwhile, the Saints deactivate newly re-acquired receiver Robert Meachem and outside linebacker Martez Wilson. Wilson did not...
Moose Johnston is dripping with sexual innuendo today during the Falcons-Saints game.
If you’re Julio Jones going against Falcons linebacker Harry Douglas…
When you give up 17 points to an extremely potent offense, including a game winning goal line stop at the end of the game to seal the victory, it's safe to say this was an overwhelming success. Rob Ryan's first game was a huge hit. The defense gave up some plays, sure, but the overall result was more than we could have asked for. They deserve all the credit for this win,...
