A 30-year-old Seattle man was killed and another man wounded in a shooting at a crowded suburban bar early Monday, police said.
The shooting broke out just after 1 a.m. at Munchbar at Bellevue Square, an upscale shopping center about 10 miles east of Seattle, said Carla Iafrate, a spokeswoman for the Bellevue Police Department.
Police officers were outside the bar when gunfire erupted because a large crowd had gathered there, she said.
More than 600 people were inside the venue at the time of the shooting. ''It was a very complicated scene,'' Iafrate said.
The wounded man was taken to Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue. Iafrate did not immediately know his age, hometown or condition.
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident. ''There was some type of altercation,'' before the shooting happened, she said. No one has been arrested, and investigators were trying to put together a description of the shooter, she said.
No officers were involved in the shooting.
Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said several players were at Munchbar following the team's Sunday night victory over the San Francisco 49ers, but none were injured.
''From what we know our guys were in a separate area and nobody was involved at all,'' Carroll said during a Monday news conference. ''It was an awful thing that happened.''
Witnesses described a chaotic scene, telling local media they dove for cover or hit the floor when they heard gunshots.
The shopping center opened Monday morning as normal, Iafrate said, adding that the shooting had minimal impact on overall operations.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told the NFL Network that many of his players, including cornerback Richard Sherman, wanted to run up the score on the 49ers this past Sunday night and put up at least 50 points.
Carroll said Sherman was pleading with him.
“He wasn’t the only one,” Carroll said.
All the Seahawks needed to do was score another touchdown and go for a...
The Seahawks trounced the 49ers, but Pete Carroll didn’t run up the score as much as he could have, so I suppose that counts as a win for civility and a triumph of the holiday spirit. Though at one point in the second half, Carroll was spotted on the sideline after a Seattle touchdown, grinning and strutting like he just plowed the homecoming queen. No reason why he shouldn’t...

Two weeks ago the 11-1 Houston Texans appeared to be the class of the NFL, until they got smashed by the Patriots 42-14. For the next week New England seemed to be the consensus #1 pick, but then they fell behind San Francisco 31-3 and couldn’t quite come all the way back. Heading into this weekend many people thought the 49ers might be the league’s top team, and yesterday...
The Seattle Seahawks (10-5) are rolling right now and head coach Pete Carroll knows it.His team wrapped up a playoff spot by crushing NFC West rival San Francisco, 42-13, on Sunday. That makes six victories in the past seven games for Seattle, who is averaging a whopping 50.0 points over its past three contests. This is the strut of a coach that is feeling good about the way things...
As the noise grew, coach Pete Carroll looked up through the rain at the deafening home crowd fueling the blowout his Seattle Seahawks were putting together on the field.
After three seasons of breaking down and reconstructing the Seahawks roster, Carroll doesn't have a team that is just going to the postseason. His club reinforced the notion that no one in the NFC wants to see...

After two weeks of being accused of running up the score on opponents, it might have come as a shock to some that Pete Carroll and the Seahawks didn’t want to post another 50 spot against their division rivals, the 49ers. Well, Carroll didn’t want to, but at least one Seahawks player did.
Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman wanted his team to score one more touchdown and go for...
Two stout defenses with mobile QBs in their first year of starting? I’ll be shocked if Peter King doesn’t drop a Xerox of Fate reference during the pregame.
The Seahawks can still overtake the Niners and take the NFC West title should they win tonight and next week and San Francisco also drops its final game, however unlikely it is that the 49ers drop their Week 17 game against...
