2008-2009 NFC Playoff Teams

Posted August 04, 2008 on BirdsFan536's Blog:
The NFC East sends 3 teams again. The NFC is always a toss up but these are the teams I believe come out on top. Just missed the cut: Minnesota Vikings (8-8): An improving team but still no consistent QB play. Unless they get Brett Favre, teams want to challenge Jackson to beat them. Arizona Cardinals (8-8): Another young team on the rise. Experience will take it's toll late in the season. Watch out for AZ in the future. Washington Redskins (7-9): A streaky season for a streaky offense will prove that consistency is the key to a successful season. Plus the fact that the NFC East is too good.

    Seattle Seahawks (11-5)

Hasselback is still the QB and he's been very consistent. No divisional team can matchup with the Seahawks either. Look for Julius Jones to play a big part in the offense as well.

  • 2
    Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)

Very active offseason. Very fast on both sides of the ball. In my opinion the best secondary in the NFL. Most importantly, Donovan McNabb is healthy again. Don't forget about their easy schedule.

    Green Bay Packers (11-5)

Brett is back ladies and gentlemen. Can anyone else see him leaving Green Bay? It is possible, but look for the coaches to crack and give Brett his job back. If not, this could create many problems for the Packers this year.

    New Orleans Saints (10-6)

The Saints had a slow start in 2007 and Tampa Bay also had a great year with Jeff Garcia. Look for Tampa to fizzle out and the Saints revamped front seven plus a high powered offense to bring them the division title.

    Dallas Cowboys (10-6)

It could go either way. But as long as Philly and Big D are both in the post season, strap in for a long ride.

    New York Giants (9-7)

The Superbowl Champion New York Giants return to the playoffs but not on a high note. The worst record of all NFC playoff teams will take an early exit.

  • You nailed it here but i dont see the Super Bowl champs being part of the party again. I like the Vikes to nab that last spot and the Cowboys to take top spot with Saints 2 and Eagles 3. Another solid post
  • Looking at this on November 23, 2008... and just shaking my head.
Proof that these pre-season guesses... are WOOORTTTH-lessssss!!!!
  • I think it will go
    1- Saints
    2- Cowboys
    3- Seahawks
    4- Packers
    5-Eagles
    6- Giants
  • If defense comes to play--EAGLES AND SAN DGO CHARGERS---IF DONOVAN STAYS HEALTHY FOR SEASON---WITH RUNNING BACKS IN SPACE---AND WR--THIS COULD BE SCARY FOR DEF COORD--IF USEPROPERLY WITH TIGHT ENDS---
