Chicago Bears 2008 Recap:
Last year the Bears were a Kyle Orton injury away from being in the playoffs. You can call that statement wishful thinking, or me being a homer, but you can't deny the way Orton played before his injury (he was starting to come into his own, in the first 7 games he had 1,669 yards, 62%, 10 TD, 4 INT). Then those 2 loses the Bears suffered with Rex Grossman at QB (which led to Orton being rushed back), and the way Orton played while less than 100% (bad to mediocre). Most of the year the offense was actually more reliable than the defense. While the defense had its moments, it was rookie RB Matt Forte that was putting the league on notice. Defensively the Bears suffered a few untimely injuries, had a few to many mental breakdowns, and had some less than stellar play calling. With some changes that were made in the off season the Bears hope to ...

Create-a-Caption – Kyle Orton Week Continues!
What, you didn’t think we were done, did you? Kyle Orton Week continues on BroncoTalk, busting open the space-time continuum and forming the LONGEST WEEK EVER. (In all seriousness we have a lot more content to deliver on KO that we couldn’t fit in due to time constraints.) For now, let’s caption [...]
BroncoTalk on the Broncos Nation Podcast
The Broncos Nation Podcast is celebrating its Season 2 premier, and BT Staffers Josh and myself joined the show’s hosts, Ian Henson (also from BT) and Danh Hoang for the festivities. We broke down the Brandon Marshall situation from all angles, talked about Kyle Orton (it’s his week after all), discussed the potential of [...]
Kyle Orton: What Is Being Said Versus the Evidence
New Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton has received a lot of criticism lately. He has been called weak—armed and interception prone.
Are these charges true? Let's take a look.
Kyle Orton’s interceptions
Ever since the Cutler—Orton trade much as been made of Orton’s interceptions. In 2008 Orton threw 12 interceptions out of 465 pass attempts. The interesting...
Bears to mingle with Obama The 'other' Jay Cutler
Lovie Smith, Jay Cutler among invited guests for fund-raising dinner
Bears coach Lovie Smith and the team's new Pro Bowl quarterback, Jay Cutler, are among the invited guests for a private fund-raising dinner Thursday for President Barack Obama.
The 'other' Jay Cutler
As quarterback Jay Cutler nears his first Chicago Bears training camp, we talk to bodybuilder Jay Cutler
One Jay Cutler is the Bears' new quarterback -- a pressure-packed job in a Bears-crazed city. The other Jay Cutler is a world-champion bodybuilder, with bulging muscles and a stellar...
Mike Shanahan Shuts His Mouth, Knows His Role
Mike Shanahan will be the highest paid coach in the NFL this season, provided he doesn't actually coach anybody. Or talk to anybody. Yes, getting fired from a high-paying job is great work if you can get it. Shanahan still had two years left on his contract with Denver when the team fired him in January, giving him plenty of time to golf with Steve Spurrier. Woody Paige reports...
Evaluating The AFC West Rivalry In '09
Interestingly, the Chiefs and Broncos share something in common other than being AFC West rivals. So far, all we have seen from both of their revamped front office and coaching staffs is a bunch of attitude and questionable decisions.
We’ll give the Chiefs a little latitude since Matt Cassel seems to have the tools of a winner. Though his price tag is beyond what he...
Bears Strategy at Wide Receiver a Risky One
There are plenty of good arguments on both sides of the debate regarding the Bears receiving corps. People are right when they say that Jay Cutler could use a primary receiver to take this offense to the next level. Others aren’t off base when they cite Matt Forte’s receiving ability and a tight end tandem [...]
Predicting The AFC West: Will Anybody Challenge San Diego In 2009?
As the 2009 NFL season begins, the talk begins. Who will stay on top of the league as true contenders? Who will disappoint? Who will surprise?
As the formal predictions begin, we are taking a look at the AFC West, a division that had an 8-8 team as a representative. Yet, there is promise in the future of this division.
The Denver Broncos begin the post-Cutler era. The Oakland Raiders...
Introducing the 2009 All-NFC North Team
After looking at the North, this division has perhaps the league's best running back, the league's best defensive tackle tandem, and one of the best free-agent pick-ups.
In the end, this was still not an easy team to compile, especially at quarterback.
Here is the preseason All-NFC North team.
Oh, before we get started, Jay Cutler is actually not the top QB. I'll explain...
