What a season, this 2011 Chicago Bears season. Let me get this straight. Hopes are suspect entering the season, the the Bears throttle one of the supposed top teams in the conference. Following that impressive win, Chicago is suddenly considered one of the top teams in the league. Then the Bears lose the next two games to NFC contenders, then ultimately begin 2-3 and are on life support. Then they go on a tear, winning five in a row, and they look like a shoo-in as the conference’s top wildcard seed. 7-3, at least a playoff birth looks like an assurance. Then our starting quarterback is lost, probably for the season. The experts say they’ll probably lose to Oakland and Green Bay, but 11-5 will still get them the top wildcard seed. Now after three straight losses, with the team at 7-6 with a practically assured loss* (see below) at Green Bay, we’re looking at a 9-7 record IF the team can beat Seattle and Minnesota. Even if 9-7 gets a playoff berth, I still d...

Bears GM: Injury won't affect Forte negotiations

Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo stressed on Sunday that Matt Forte's sprained MCL won't affect contract negotiations between the sides as they look to consummate a long-term extension for the running back.

Jay Cutler Tribute Song is Sad, Sweet, and Surprisingly Well Done

Now that the Bears have had Caleb Hanie under center the last few weeks, fans have started to realize how good they had it with QB Jay Cutler, and with RB Matt Forte out as well, the pining for the return of Cutler has intensified, as is evidenced by this rather touching parody song called “Cutty Come Back.” Kind of sweet, in an cheesy, unshaven, Camaro driving, 70s sort...

Bears Hope To End Streaks, Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

In a classic case of two two teams heading ini opposite directions, the Chicago Bears (7-5) head West to try and keep their playoff hopes alive when they face the Denver Broncos(7-5)Sunday afternoon at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Bears-Broncos prop picks (12.11.11)

It's the Marion Barber show from here on out until Matt Forte and/or Jay Cutler return. Here is a look at hypothetical propositional wagers between the Bears and Broncos. First team to score Broncos. Unless there’s a defensive or special teams score, or some kind of broken play, I don’t expect a touchdown to be the first score. So, it really comes down to which team...

How Hawks can make playoffs

As the Seahawks prepare for what should be a home victory tonight against the Rams, the playoffs are well within reach – believe it or not. All it will take is an arm extender with a firm grip. The Seahawks actually would be in the driver’s seat for a wild-card spot if they had won winnable games against Cleveland and Washington. They could be 7-5 with their destiny in their...

Bears Still Working With Questionable Memorablia Company

For football fans with cash to spend, game-worn memorabilia can be ultimate prize. Who wouldn't want to decorate their den with the framed jersey that Jay Cutler wore when leading the Bears to a playoff win over Seattle, or that Julius Peppers wore when sacking Matthew Stafford to help Chicago beat Detroit? Unfortunately, game worn jerseys and other apparel can still be...

He’s talking with Broncos kicker Matt Prater now. Cutler was the Broncos’ starting quarterback from the final 5 games of 2006 through 2008, when he earned a Pro Bowl nod. The firing of head...
