The really good news for the Sacramento Mountain Lions and their fans is that it looks like QB Daunte Culpepper is returning. The better news is 2010 offensive player of the year, RB Cory Ross, also looks to be returning. They are the core of an offense that can be very explosive.
On defense the team will return the line backing trio of Zeke Moreno, Michael Tauiliili, and Dontarrious Thomas. They will from the backbone of the Mountain Lions defense. Truth be told over the two full UFL seasons this is the team that has improved the most. Now they look to build on what they have already done.
During the course of the premier UFL season the then California Redwoods only won two games, but by and large they were considered the most improved team during the course of that year. In 2010 they doubled their win total and almost made a strong enough statement to qualify for the 2010 UFL championship game.
