The Denver Broncos had a eventful offseason to say the least.

The team signed Peyton Manning to be the new quarterback and traded away the old quarterback Tim Tebow despite winning the AFC West and a playoff game. Even with those two big transactions, the Broncos are in the news for all the wrong reasons at the moment.

Training camp will start on July 25 and the Broncos will face too many distractions for a team looking to make a Super Bowl run. The Broncos have players in trouble, players coming off serious injury and overall expectations to deal with.
Elvis Dumveril arrested The Broncos' star defensive end got arrested on charges of aggravated assault on Sunday in Miami. According to the police report, Dumervil got into a road rage incident on a busy street. The report alleges Dumervil and his friend Andy Auguste each left their vehicles, approached the occupants in a white Impala, and lifted their shirts, each displaying a gun.

Dumervil is a huge part of the defense. He, along with Von Miller,  are paid to terrorize quarterbacks. If Dumervil misses any time, the defense will struggle. Miller is not the same player without Dumervil on the field. The Broncos hope to play with a lot of leads this season which will force teams to pass in the second half. If quarterbacks are able to sit back in the pocket and not worry about the pass rush, those leads could disappear quickly.

With this arrest coming so close to camp it will be an issue for the Broncos. There will be plenty of questions from the media regarding possible suspension, jail time and Dumervil's mindset going into the season with all of this looming over his head.
More legal troubles

Linebacker D.J. Williams, running back Knowshon Moreno and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas are involved in legal issues that they will deal with during the season. Williams and Moreno both face DUI charges. Williams is due in court on Aug. 15 which is right in the middle of the preseason.  Moreno and his "Sauced" license plate are still awaiting a court date.

Thomas, who testified during the Perrish Cox case, is going to be in court for civil suit for the same case. The lawsuit claims battery, sexual assault and battery, aiding and abetting tortuous conduct, conspiracy, outrageous conduct and negligence, which include failing to ensure the woman's safety. At this time, there is no date set for the suit to go to court but Thomas could be looking at time in a courtroom instead of on the field.

Williams is facing a six-game suspension for a a failed drug test and may be looking at more time after a second failed test.  With Williams facing the DUI charge as well, the linebacker will get a call from Roger Goodell soon,

All three players will deal with these problems during the season which will turn attention to off field instead of on field.
How is Manning's neck? The Broncos say it is great. Manning say it is 100 percent and he is ready to go. Broncos players say he looks like the "old Peyton Manning". No matter what is said about Manning's neck it is going to be the biggest topic of training camp.  Pat Bowlen, John Elway, John Fox and the whole Broncos fan base is banking on the future hall-of-famer's health.

If Manning is not healthy, this is Caleb Hanie's team and Bears fans can attest to the fact that it didn't go as planned with the former CSU star under center. If Manning is close to 100 percent the Broncos are thinking Super Bowl, if not, they are think top-10 pick in next year's draft. The question of his healthy will be brought up every day. Manning is strong and will deal with but there are a lot of young players on the team and constant questions may wear on them.
Super Bowl or bust? A lot the early Super Bowl contender predictions have quieted down recently. The Broncos are still a favorite for the AFC West title and are in the conversation for the Super Bowl. Expectations can get in team's head. Just ask last year's "Dream Team" Philadelphia Eagles. If the team ignores those thoughts they will be fine but if expectations start to creep in their heads it will be a long season.

This offseason was all about Manning's signing and good vibes. Things have changed in the last couple months and the Denver Broncos will be facing a barrage of questions about off-field antics.
