QUARTERBACK All eyes are on Robert Griffin III this upcoming season. With high expectations coming off a breakout season at Baylor and earning college football's top honor by winning the Heisman Trophy, RG3 has his work cut out for him. Expect Griffin to get the nod as the starting quarterback entering the 2012 season. Rex Grossman will most likely take the role as the backup, while Kirk Cousins will serve as the team's third-string quarterback. While Washington's quarterbacks have had a history of struggling in the second half of the season the past few years with veterans like Rex Grossman, Donovan McNabb, and Jason Campbell, Griffin should provide more and more fantasy production as the season goes on. The team has built a strong running presence the past few seasons that should help take pressure off Griffin and help open up play-action pass plays. Washington Redskins QB situation: Plenty of reason for optimism

With the 2012 season fast-approaching, I figured it was LONG overdue (sorry about that) for a “State of the Redskins” article of sorts. As it stands at the moment, the Washington Redskins roster reflects a team that is both looking towards the future and remembering what has and has not worked in the past.  It elicits a feeling of tremendous confidence and optimism to know that...

Video: New Adidas Robert Griffin III commercial

It looks like Adidas is hitting the airwaves hard with their new potential superstar Robert Griffin III. Not sure what to make of this commercial as I think it is a little creepy but I understood the concept. With Cam Newton and now Robert Griffin III, it seems rookie and sophomore players are gaining more and more commercial attention in the NFL. I actually agree with New York Giants...

RG3 fine with Umenyiora barb

Robert Griffin III insists he has no problem with Osi Umenyiora saying that he will refer to the Redskins rookie quarterback as "Bob Griffin" and not by his nickname.

Osi Umenyiora calls Robert Griffin III ‘Bob,’ says he needs to earn RG3 nickname

Typically there are two types of nicknames for players in sports: achievement-based nicknames and ones that just stem from a person’s name like you or I would have. Robert Griffin III’s nickname falls under the latter category. The former Baylor star has probably been called a fair share of names that have to do with his athletic ability, but people normally call him RG3 because...

Osi Umenyiora says Robert Griffin III hasn’t done anything to be nicknamed RG3, so he’ll call him ‘Bob Griffin’

Osi Umenyiora is gearing up for his 8th season with the New York Giants. A season where he and his teammates will be the defending NFC East and Super Bowl champions. While the Giants’ core has remained intact, there have been a few changes within the division. The most intriguing of which is Robert Griffin III taking over at quarterback in Washington. But seeing as though the Giants...

Osi Umenyiora shoots down RG3 hype

Robert Griffin III is entering the NFL with more hype surrounding him than perhaps any prospect in recent memory. Whether he will live up to it remains to be seen, but you can't go far -- or flip through many channels -- without seeing his trademarked initials or personalized nickname. Outspoken Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora thinks we're getting a bit carried away...

The NFL draft and the supplemental draft are over.  Contracts are being negotiated and signed.  And training camp is just a whisper away. It's go time, so let's go with who will rule the rookie roost this year.  Quarterback Cam Newton was a freak of nature.  The quarterback class this year has a lot to live up to.  While it is doubtful that any of the incoming...
