Found August 23, 2012 on Football Nation:
Now that preseason action is in full swing and we have received word that rookie Ryan Tannehill is now the starting quarterback of Miami, the questions are surrounding newly crowned head coach Joe Philbin. Some questions are pretty obvious, "Why Tannehill?" "What receivers will he be working with the most?"Well, that's what I'm going to explain. The Dolphins went from having very possibly one of the best receivers in the NFL to having one of the weakest receiving corps in the NFL. Davone Bess is a No. 2 caliber receiver at best and they went out and signed and re-signed two slot receivers in Legedu Naanee and Brian Hartline. Lets face it Dolphins fans --  Reggie Bush is the best receiver on your team and he's your running back. You will definitely need improvement on that before your considered a threat against these AFC East squads. My offensive depth chart as of August 23, 2012 is Tannehill at quarterback, Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas to split carries...

HBO Tricks American Males By Not Showing Lauren Tannehill On Hard Knocks

HBO actually produced a roughly hour-long episode of Hard Knocks without showcasing Lauren Tannehill, the old lady of Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. People were not pleased: They still haven't shown Lauren Tannehill — Jake Winderman (@jakewinderman) August 22, 2012 Bro, no emoticons please.  If you girls don't know who @LaurenTannehill...

Dolphins lackluster with Tannehill

Miami Dolphins rookie Ryan Tannehill had a so-so showing Friday night, which was more than some of his offensive teammates could say. In his first game as the Dolphins' starting quarterback, Tannehill went 11 for 27 for 112 yards and one interception, and Miami lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 23-6. Four of Tannehill's passes were dropped, including a potential 4-yard touchdown...

Newly branded starter Tannehill has support

DAVIE, Fla. Wide receiver Davone Bess saw it on the NFL Network. Tackle Jake Long watched it go by on ESPN's scrawl. Tight end Anthony Fasano read it on Twitter. The news was that Miami Dolphins rookie Ryan Tannehill would be their starting quarterback for the Sept. 9 opener at Houston. "It caught me off guard," wide receiver Clyde Gates said Tuesday about seeing...

The Five Best Moments Of The Third Episode Of Dolphins ‘Hard Knocks’

No way to sugarcoat it: that was a pretty lousy installment of “Hard Knocks” we sat through on Tuesday night. Things went pretty much as expected. Ryan Tannehill was promoted to starter. Jim Turner was gruff and profane. Joe Philbin continues to be that most dangerous type of annoying superior – an even-keel prick. NFL Films continues to do an excellent job editing and and...

Dolphins Coach Philbin: Sink or Swim?

After episode three of Hard Knocks: Miami Dolphins Training Camp, I see young rookies with raw talent and older veterans, working hard to bring it all together and form a team.  Ryan Tannehill has been named starting quarterback (for now). … Continue reading →

New Dolphins Must Make Splash to Stop Miami from Sinking in 2012

There is an old NFL adage that if you have two good QBs on your roster, then you really don’t have one.  It is to say that if you don’t have a standout, the position isn’t really strongly represented.  As a Niner fan, I’m  aware of at least one extremely rare example (Joe Montana and Steve Young, duh).  I wish I can ask whoever coined this platitude what does it mean...

Bump and Run Coverage: Ryan Tannehill and Jake Locker Take Charge

As the preseason reaches the halfway point, two winners have emerged from this year’s trio of quarterback competitions (Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson will try to wrest the job away from Matt Flynn against the Chiefs on Friday).Although the battlefields may have been tilted towards the coaching staff’s desired outcome, the Dolphins have named rookie QB Ryan Tannehill as their...

Has Hard Knocks lost its appeal?

Chad Johnson has come and gone and so too has all his nationwide interest. The Dolphins still have 2 episodes left of this seasons Hard Knocks and one has to think if they might have lost their national appeal. The second episode which featured Chad Johnson's release was one that had anticipation from the whole NFL world. The episode drew in buzz that led to the second highest...

Dolphins ‘Hard Knocks’ Episode Three Live Blog

“Hard Knocks” lost Chad Johnson last week and a lot of the sh*tshot potential for this season went with him. That doesn’t mean we’re giving up on the show just yet. It helps that it’s Tuesday and there’s a whole lot of nothing on TV this evening otherwise. But I think this show still has something up its sleeve. Think of all the things that Joe Philbin has yet to mildly...
