The 2012 NFL off-season isn’t quite over just yet with training camp set to begin on July 22nd, as the Philadelphia Eagles will be the first team to begin training camp. With training camp less than three weeks away, it is a perfect time to examine what teams were winners during the 2012 off-season. 1. Denver Broncos The Denver Broncos landed the biggest player on the free agent market in superstar quarterback Peyton Manning. The Broncos signing of Manning, who was out the entire 2011 season with a severe neck injury, could help bring the franchise their third Super Bowl ring. The Broncos also signed tight end Jacob Tamme, cornerback Tracy Porter, wide receiver Andre Caldwell and a former favorite target of Manning’s in wide receiver Brandon Stokley. 2. Buffalo Bills The Buffalo Bills made a huge splash this offseason with their blockbuster signing of defensive end Mario Williams. The Bills also added a solid defensive end in the former New England Patriot, Mark Anderson. Buffalo also signed a decent back-up quarterback for starter Ryan Fitzpatrick in Vince Young. 3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers After firing head coach Raheem Morris, the Bucs made a great hire in then Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano. Schiano was a tremendous college coach who completely turned around the Rutgers football program. The Bucs also added one of the best free agent wide receivers in former San Diego Charger Vincent Jackson. Tampa Bay also signed veteran tight end Dallas Clark and one of the top guards in the NFL in Carl Nicks.
