On Tuesday it was reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers had signed long snapper Matt Katula. Today we have the back end of that transaction as wide receiver Connor Dixon was placed on their Waived/Injured List. Steelers Sign Long Snapper Matt Katula

Scott Smith from XAM Sports reports this morning on Twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed long snapper Matt Katula to a one-year contract. Smith represents Katula. There is no word who was released to make room on the 90 man roster for Katula as of yet. Katula had reportedly worked out for the Steelers in May. LS Matt Katula and the #Steelers have agreed to terms on...

Steelers Littergate: Anti-litter Group Should Use Sanders Mistake As Teaching Opportunity

Let me start this post off by saying that I have littered before. I have done it more than once in my life as well. Not recently mind you, but I have done it. In addition, I have never been ticketed or fined for it. Boy, that feels good to get that off my chest. It seems that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown have also littered in their past as...

Steelers sign LB Johnson, LS Katula

Linebacker Brandon Johnson and long snapper Matt Katula signed with the Steelers, who placed wide receiver Connor Dixon on their Waived/Injured List and also released tight end Wes Lyons. Johnson, a backup linebacker in Cincinnati the past four years, is a noted special teams player. A fifth-round pick in 2006 by Arizona, he had a career-high 83 tackles in 2008. Katula is a seven...

Steelers' Sanders, Brown plead guilty... of littering

News is slow at this time of the offseason. We all know it. That's why the following is such a huge deal for Steelers fans. Wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Antontio Brown pleaded guilty on Monday to leaving boxes by a private dumpster. You read that right. They pleaded guilty -- to leaving boxes -- by a dumpster. We'll just go ahead and ignore the fact that they actually...

Pittsburgh Steelers open mini-camp with three important rookies finally in camp and without Mike Wallace

The Pittsburgh Steelers opened mini-camp today in preparation for the 2012 season. Of course, the big news of the day was expected as Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Wallace did not report. The restricted free agent has still not signed his RFA tender and looks to continue his holdout by missing these five mandatory sessions. Besides the Wallace story, the focus turned to the Steelers...

Manny Sanders Is Just Part Of The Littering Problem

A local Pittsburgh anti-littering campaign had been using Steelers receiver Emmanuel Sanders in an ad, presumably to help convince Yinzers to stop leaving Terrible Towels and Primanti takeout containers strewn across the area’s pristine industrial ruins. But it appears that the forces of do-goodery will need a new public face in the war against litterbugs because they had to sever...

WR scrapped from litter campaign

Steelers receiver Emmanuel Sanders was scrapped as the face of an anti-littering campaign after he was fined for failing to put out the trash properly, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. Sanders appeared earlier in the week in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court alongside teammate Antonio Brown as the pair pleaded guilty to leaving boxes behind a private dumpster in the Beltzhoover...

Harrison and Roethlisberger are in the top 30 of NFL’s top 100

Last night the NFL released number 21-30 on their top 100 of 2012 list, and two Steelers made that section of the list.  James Harrion came in at number 29 and Ben Roethlisberger came in at number 30.   This makes 5 Steelers that have made the list to date with still the top 20 players in the NFL to go.  Mike Wallace, Maurkice Pouncey and LaMarr Woodley also made the list. ...

Anti-Littering NFL Player/Spokesman gets Arrested for Littering

Pittsburgh Steelers continue their 'Making Stupid Decisions in the Offseason' streak by having Emmanuel Sanders, the spokesman, and Antonio Brown get popped for leaving boxes beside a private Dumpster. All the Rooney family knows how to do is break laws. No wonder The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ended up getting raped and then broke a few laws of her own. It's just...

Colt McCoy Says Hit By James Harrison Last Season Was Not A Cheap Shot

Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy was on The Dan Patrick Show this past Friday and he was asked about the fourth quarter hit that he took from Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison during the week 14 game. Patrick first asked McCoy if he remembered the hit and the quarterback replied, “Well, I’ve seen it several times. I don’t remember it.” Patrick later asked...

Steelers Six From Around The Web – June 14th – Antonio Brown Talks Contract Year Edition

The Top 100 Players of 2012 rolled on last night with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ranking 30th and outside linebacker James Harrison ranking 29th on the list that none of the players seem to admit voting for. Emmanuel Sanders joined 93.7 The Fan to talk about how the learning of the offense is going and how he currently still is the return man heading out...

Dear Mr. Goodell, Your Hypocrisy Is Showing Again

Dear Mr. Roger Goodell, Last season I brought to your attention that the NFL photo store was selling pictures of a concussed Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy sitting on the ground following the hit made by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison in the fourth quarter of the week 14 game. You do remember that play, don't you? It was the one that resulted in you suspending...
