Which Position Will The Steelers Add To With One Roster Spot Now Open?

The Pittsburgh Steelers released quarterback Troy Smith on Monday and thus opened up a spot on the 90 man roster. Five quarterbacks was one too many to take to training camp, so it is pretty safe to say that another quarterback will not be signed to fill that spot. With two long snappers, two kickers and two punters currently on the roster, I think we can rule out a specialist being...

Brandon Lindsey Confirms He Needs Shoulder Surgery

It was annouched earlier today that the Pittsburgh Steelers had waived former University of Pittsburgh linebacker Brandon Lindsey and signed former LSU linebacker Ryan Baker. I mentioned in that post that Lindsey might have been waived injured with a shoulder injury and that indeed was the case. Pittsburgh Steelers work out former Patriot Markell Carter

Per a league source, the Pittsburgh Steelers are working out former New England Patriots outside linebacker/defensive end Markell Carter. Carter, a second year OLB/DE out of Central Arkansas, didn't quite pan out in New England it seems. Steelers’ Clark: Big Ben could be ‘scary good’

Earlier today, NFL Network's Albert Breer mentioned that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger showed up to offseason workouts "far earlier" than in years past, and, from what Breer hears, has been "terrific" learning the offense being implemented by new coordinator Todd Haley. While it's not a surprise Roethlisberger is adapting with ease, teammate...

Are Expectations Too High For The Steelers New Offensive Line?

By Cian Fahey Arguably since 2005, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been winning games in spite of their offensive line. There has been some decent combinations upfront, but never has the line really been a strength since Marvel Smith, Alan Faneca, Jeff Hartings, Kendall Simmons and Max Starks pushed the team towards a Super Bowl victory. That group of offensive linemen were mostly...

Ward: Players gave Goodell too much power

Retired Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward said the players gave NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to much control of player discipline in the collective bargaining agreement signed last year. "So Roger Goodell, even though a lot of players don't like having him in charge, the NFLPA, we signed off on the collective bargaining agreement," Ward told WFNZ radio in Charlotte...
