Position battles around the league will really heat up when camps begin at the end of July. Living up to expectations can be as difficult as the appeals process in the NFL. So far, Mark Sanchez is failing to live up to the hype despite some playoff success. Naming newly acquired quarterback Tim Tebow as the starter before heading in to camp would be the best thing for Sanchez and the New York Jets.
With 26 touchdowns last season, Sanchez managed to not be terrible, but he simply couldn't make plays when it counted. If the Jets want to improve upon their 8-8 record last year, Sanchez has to sit down for awhile.
Tebow is the best and worst thing for Sanchez right now. Sanchez is being pushed to work harder with Tebow behind him on the depth chart, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's working smarter. The fear of Tebow taking Sanchez's job is enough to inspire and motivate Sanchez, but it will cloud his judgment and he will start trying to force plays which could c...

Tim Tebow will start for the New York Jets during the 2012 season. That is a very strong statement but, there are some specific reasons why I think it is going to happen. The New York Jets start camp this week and Mark Sanchez will enter as the starting QB. Tim Tebow will not emerge from camp as the starter but, I guarantee he starts before the season is over. Specifically...
At this point in time Tim Tebow has no choice other than to add on the pounds and do what the New York Jets want of him. According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, team insiders have told him that the Jets plan on replacing quarterback Mark Sanchez in the red zone with Tim Tebow in order to help their running game have more success.
I understand what the Jets are doing, but they’re opening themselves up for a mid-season quarterback controversy if and when Tebow looks better running the offense.
Controversial New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow finished a five day workout session with throwing guru Tom House yesterday on the campus of the University of Southern California at gated-off Howard Jones Field. House, who played for three Major League … Continue reading →
We are kicking around new features on TVF, and this may be one of the ones that sticks, or not. Tim Tebow of the New York Jets is currently the 2nd greatest backup QB in the NFL, squarely sitting behind the first in Mark Sanchez. Ideas about how Tebow might be used have been volleyed [...]
Rich Cimini of ESPN reports, citing team insiders, that the New York Jets will likely concentrate Tim Tebow's snaps inside the redzone. The report itself isn't surprising considering Tim Tebow's dual threat nature as a quarterback, but there seems to be more drawbacks to the plan than benefits.
If we decide to be optimistic, we can see a scenario in which Tim Tebow...
2012 is not only the year of the Mayan calendar's dreaded prediction of impending doom for planet Earth, but also a do-or-die season for Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Specifically, the exact Mayan date is December 21, 2012.
Meanwhile, the Jets play their Week 16 game of the NFL calendar on December 23.
The question is will Sanchez fizzle before the Mayan prediction...

You'll be seeing a lot less of Rex Ryan this season. The Jets' coach hasn't been one to shy away from blabbering for the microphone, but he's down in the blubber department. Ryan, like his brother and Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, underwent lap-band surgery two years ago. He said Thursday he's ready to enter a new weight class, having dropped a total...
