Well folks, week one is in the books. Now it is on to week two. There were plenty of surprises and the rankings have shifted a little bit. That being said, do not panic. If you own a stud and they did not perform, calm down and start them again. Do not panic. I will say it again: Do Not Panic!

Over the course of the year the studs will perform. The season is a marathon and not a sprint.

With that, here are our Week #2 IDP LB Rankings:

Rank Player Vs Comments 1 James Laurinaitis WAS Should see a lot of running, a lot of RG3 scrambling, and a lot of Fred Davis. Big game ahead 2 Ray Lewis PHI He is leaner than he has been in years and he was all over the field Monday night. More of the same this week 3 Daryl Washington NE He is already one of the best LBs against the pass and he will see a lot of the Tes this week 4 D'Qwell Jackson CIN Even when his tackle numbers are low he still comes up big on the field and in fantasy circles 5 Brian Cushing JAX Will meet MJD in the hole a lot and will probably have a few chances to tally a sack too 6 Navorro Bowman DET He showed last year was not a fluke and is slowly outperforming Willis 7 Curtis Lofton CAR As long as he remains in the middle in NO he will have a lot of games with 8-10 total tackles 8 Sean Lee SEA Hot start and another nice matchup to keep it up 9 Patrick Willis DET I want to put him higher, but just cannot 10 Sean Weatherspoon DEN 3-down LB that will see a lot of passes flying around 11 Derrick Johnson BUF Buffalo's offense leaves a lot to be desired and DJ should be able to make his way through the junk to get 8 or so tackles 12 D.J. Smith CHI A lot of Forte and Bush for Smith to contend with this week 13 Paul Posluszny HOU the matchup makes me want to put him higher, but he did not go off against Peterson last week so I am tempering my expectations 14 Donald Butler TEN Was one of the few highlights of the Monday night game. He was everywhere 15 Colin McCarthy SD He would be in the top-10 if fully healthy. Check injury reports to make sure he is able to play in this one 16 Karlos Dansby OAK He will see McFadden all over the place and should get some good tackle chances in trying to stop him 17 London Fletcher STL NO did not run the ball much, but Fletcher really had a slow game in week 1. Hopefully it was a fluke and not a sign of him slowing down 18 Chad Greenway IND He is an elite option, but if Indy does not run much then the tackles could be limited 19 Jerod Mayo AZ I am not sure how often AZ will have the ball to let him tally his stats. That said he is a threat for 10+ tackles every week 20 Jon Beason NO Showed that he was back to form last week. NO did not run a lot though and the limited tackle opportunities could be an issue unless he chances Graham all over 21 Rolando McClain MIA   22 Wesley Woodyard ATL He was arguably one of the most impressive IDPers of week 1. He should have the chance to keep it up this week too 23 Stephen Tulloch SF   24 Nick Barnett KC   25 Clay Matthews CHI He looked unstoppable against SF and should own the shaky Bears OL that let up 2 sacks to Robert Mathis last week 26 DeMeco Ryans BAL   27 Kavell Conner MIN   28 Erin Henderson IND   29 Demarcus Ware SEA If Okung is out or is hobbled then Ware could see another 2 sack performance this week 30 Perry Riley STL   31 Lawrence Timmons NYJ   32 Von Miller ATL One of Miller or Dumervil will go off this week. Last week it was Miller. Is it him again this week? 33 Kelvin Sheppard KC   34 Lavonte David NYG   35 Stephen Nicholas DEN Last week's performance was not a fluke. He is a solid 3-down LB at the moment. Just bear in mind the Falcons played Nickel D on all but 11 snaps last week and will do so a lot less with Grimes done for the year now 36 Jo-Lonn Dunbar WAS   37 David Hawthorne CAR He came out of last week's game uninjured, but he also did not fill the stat sheet much either 38 Paris Lenon NE   39 A.J. Hawk CHI I want to put him around the top-25 but I need to see that he is not a one week wonder after he has disappointed me so much in the past 40 Thomas Howard CLE   41 Mason Foster NYG   42 K.J. Wright DAL   43 Brian Urlacher GB Urlacher was on a snap count last week and it hurt his numbers. Until that goes away, I cannot put him higher in good faith 44 Luke Kuechly NO   45 James Anderson NO Anderson and Kuechly came off the field more than I thought. Thomas Davis saw some significant snaps in the nickel D which would hurt both of their values 46 Akeem Ayers SD   47 Larry Foote NYJ   48 Jerrell Freeman MIN   49 Justin Durant SF He led all Detroit LBs in tackles last week and will face a SF offense that will run a lot and throw to Davis towards the strong side in this one. 50 Miles Burris MIA   51 Rey Maualuga CLE   52 David Harris PIT   53 Lance Briggs GB He failed to fill the stat sheet up despite playing most of the game against the Colts and with Urlacher out most of the game. Not a good sign 54 Brandon Spikes AZ   55 Mychal Kendricks BAL   56 Bobby Wagner DAL He had a surprisingly poor week one performance. Maybe it can be attributed to the Cardinals not running enough. Let's see how he does this week 57 DeAndre Levy SF   58 Kevin Burnett OAK   59 Akeem Dent DEN He tallied a disappointing zero last week, but was only on the field with the base package for 11 snaps. That should climb a little bit this week and he should get some chances to show what he is capable of 60 Michael Boley TB He played and logged an interception but Rivers started. Need to see him in the starting lineup before he climbs higher

A Moment On NFL Power Rankings

Just stop it. I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, the National Football League…with the notable exceptions of three things: 1. The NFL Scouting Combine – It’s the world’s worst meat market. This event still blows my wig off. I’m going to judge talent by how someone plays against other high-end competition; not by how someone performs in a pair of shorts...

Schwartz vs. Harbaugh: Heavyweight bout round two?

The Detroit Lions lost to the San Francisco 49ers last year in the final minutes, ending their bid for a potential perfect season.  Undefeated going into the game, Detroit surrendered a Delanie Walker touchdown catch on fourth-and-six with just 1:51 remaining. The game, however, will be remembered for a handshake, not late-game heroics. The game ended with the Lions trying a desperation...

San Francisco 49ers: Jim Harbaugh's Squad Will Sustain NFC Power

Some sports writers and pundits are assuming that the San Francisco 49ers are going to have a rubber band season in 2012.Sure the 49ers went 13-3 last year, and it was exciting for the team to get to host an NFC Championship once again.Heck it seemed like old times! Break out the Huey Lewis and the News records, find Jerry Rice and Joe Montana and let’s cut a single.Expectations...

NaVorro Bowman: 49ers’ win over Packers “was a huge statement”

After a 30-22 win over the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers NaVorro Bowman said the win was a “huge statement” (Credit: AP Photo) After leading the 49ers with 11 tackles and had an interception of Aaron Rodgers as the 49ers beat the Packers on Sunday and Bowman thinks this win meant a whole lot more than just in the standings. “That was a huge statement,” Bowman said...

49ers show they're serious NFC contender in Week 1

(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By JANIE McCAULEY AP Sports Writer The San Francisco 49ers showed all the same poise and big playmaking ability - not to mention dominant defense against NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers - in a season-opening statement victory at Green Bay as they did in coming so close to a Super Bowl last season. Who said the reigning NFC West champions couldn't do it...

49ers, Lions prepare for handshake gate rematch

Maybe they can shake hands and put the issue behind them for good. All eyes will certainly be on Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz and San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh when they meet up in Week 2 in a rematch of the 49ers’ 25-19 victory over the Lions at Ford Field last season. Following the Week 6 game, Harbaugh aggressively shook Schwartz’s hand as he ran off the field...

Aaron Rodgers will now have to wear an Alex Smith jersey

buy49ersjersey.com This past weekend we mentioned that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have to wear an Alex Smith jersey for an entire week if they lost to the 49ers on Sunday.  Well as we all know Green Bay did in fact lose to San Francisco. Rodgers made the bet with Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men since he’s a 49ers fan and some friends of Rodgers’ asked him  to do the...

Philly Sports World Fantasy Week 1 Recap, Eating CROW

Philly Sports World Fantasy Week 1 Fantasy Week 1 Gloating and eating CROW Picking the 49ers by 10 in Green Bay I missed the mark by 2. The revamped 49er offense with “the dusted off Randy Moss who produced a TD was everything I expected. With a balanced attack Alex Smith put up strong numbers passing for 211 yards and two touchdowns. The DEFENSE managed to keep Rodgers in check...

Aaron Rodgers is welching on Alex Smith jersey bet

TMZ is reporting that Aaron Rodgers is welching on his bet he made with Boyz II Men. Here is what TMZ reported. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem to understand the way bets work — because even though he LOST a wager to Boyz II Men … he’s now trying to weasel his way out of paying up … by throwing TMZ under the bus. We broke the story … the Green Bay Packers star agreed to a...

Boyz II Men will give Aaron Rodgers some time before he wears his Alex Smith jersey

buy49ersjersey.com According to TMZ.com, Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men plans on giving Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers some time before he has to wear an Alex Smith jersey after losing Sunday’s game to the 49ers, as well as bet that he made with Morris. Harbaugh, Schwartz downplay their dustup

Story lines abound in the 49ers' nationally televised rematch with the Lions on Sunday night at Candlestick Park. First, there's the ongoing relationship, if that's what you can call it, between the two coaches -- the Lions' Jim Schwartz and the 49ers' Jim Harbaugh. The two nearly brawled at the end of a hard-fought game in Detroit last October. The 49ers won...

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers: Week 2 NFL Pick

Detroit Lions (1-0) at San Francisco 49ers (1-0) Both of these teams were in my overrated group heading into the season. The idea with the overrated/underrated teams was to bet the underrated teams and against the overrated teams until the odds makers caught up or I was proven wrong. Detroit didn’t prove me wrong as they barely eked out a come from behind win at home against the...
