In the Chicago Bears receiving corps, it’s Brandon Marshall, and just a bunch of guys. On the other side in the secondary, it’s Pro-Bowlers everywhere. Charles Peanut Tillman is a pro’s pro. He gets it done on the field and just snatches the ball away from opponents. Like John Madden once hilariously and infamously said of Peanut “he’s the best stripper in football.” Indeed. Chicago Bears WR/TE From TSB’s Jeffrey Hicks: Alshon Jeffery could very well be the key on offense for the Chicago Bears. The second year wide receiver is expected to line up opposite Brandon Marshall and take the next step in his progression as a No. 2 receiver. Camp Trestman ended with Jeffery earning praise from Marshall, as well as first year head coach Marc Trestman. Jeffery also arrived to camp in great shape after dealing with multiple injuries in his 2012 rookie campaign. If those injury issues fall by the wayside, Chicago could become an offensive threat through the air. (read the whole Alshon Jeffre...

2013 Chicago Bears season overview and predictions

This is the final installment of our series previewing the Chicago Bears season. To see the other parts click on the links at the bottom here. It’s pretty hard to forecast the Chicago Bears season a couple weeks before the year even kicks off. Schedule strength doesn’t matter as much in the NFL a it does in college football. The NFL has much more parity, and a much longer season...

Kyle Long, Jordan Mills offer hope and stability for Bears

The Chicago Bears should start Kyle Long and Jordan Mills for their third preseason game on August 23. Their play against the San Diego Chargers more than warrants that thought, and praise from one Jay Cutler should all but guarantee a second start. If the hot and cold Cutler can feel safe behind any offensive linemen and admit it publicly, then the Bears’ coaching staff has to...

Former Bear David Terrell Charged on Felony Drug Charges

Former Chicago Bears first-round draft pick David Terrell was charged with felony drug charges of manufacturing or delivery of cannabis and a misdemeanor count of battery, according to John Mirabelli of the Chicago Police Department. Officers received a call of smoking marijuana on Friday afternoon and conducted an interview with Terrell, according to the police report. Cannabis...

Bears Sign J'Marcus Webb to Renegotiated Contract

J'Marcus Webb has been a topic of frustration during his first three years in the NFL, and it appears he may have been granted a fourth year at a reduced rate.  Some sharp-eyed Bears fans noticed on the official NFL.com transaction report website that Webb has signed what is being termed a renegotiated contract.  Webb is in the final year of his four-year rookie year deal...

2013 Chicago Bears season preview QB/ST

The new drinking game for Chicago Bears telecasts this year: “Marc Trestman is a quarterback whisperer.” I’m already very sick of this, and we’re still weeks away from the actual season even starting!  We’ll see if he can solve Jay Cutler; optimize him. Like no other quarterback coach can. By the way, if you’re looking for the shortest possible football books “Jay...

Coincidentally, it’s the same town where Jay Cutler and wife Kristin Cavallari are...

Are J’Marcus Webb’s days numbered?

After having his pay slashed last week, are the days of J’Marcus Webb as an offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears nearing an end? We consider all the factors that will weigh into that decision.

Chicago Bears get the win, but…

It was difficult to determine if the Bears were simply that good, or if the San Diego Chargers were really that bad.  As the game wore on, it became clear it was a little bit of both. QB Jay Cutler was sacked twice during the first offensive series.  TE Martellus Bennet was taken back of the woodshed by DE Jarrett Johnson and after that, Cutler was up to his old tricks, diddly...
