[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Packers RB James Starks is a popular add this week, see where he ranks in the Fantasy PPR Week 3 RB Rankings.[/caption] Hello again fantasy football owners and welcome to Week 3 of the fantasy football season. Hopefully, your team is not currently sitting at 0-2, but even if it is don't fret because you have come to right place. Before we get into our Week 3 version of our 2013 running back rankings, let's take a quick look back at Week 2. Things have not been great for fantasy running backs this season as high-end draft picks like Trent Richardson, Maurice Jones-Drew, David Wilson, DeMarco Murray and others have been disappointing early on. Yet, for every disappointment there's a surprise like the Broncos' Knowshon Moreno or the Packers James Starks. Moreno, who was written off by most experts appears to have taken over the no.1 running back role in Denver, for now at least, after carrying the ball 13 times for 93 yards, while adding three receptions for 14 yards and scoring two rushing touchdowns for a 25-point fantasy performance. In two games, the former first-round pick, has averaged 11 carries and three receptions. If the Broncos keep giving Moreno even this workload of around 15 touches a game, he can be a solid flex play going forward and if he continues to produce, his touches should only increase. Then there's Starks, who at one point this offseason looked like he could get cut by the Packers but rebounded to make the roster and now looks like he will be starting for Green Bay in Week 3 against the Bengals thanks to the concussion suffered last week by Eddie Lacy. In Lacy's absence, Starks looked like the back, who helped Green Bay win the Super Bowl in 2010 as he carried the ball 20 times for 132 yards and a rushing touchdown, as well as catching four passes for 36 yards in an easy win over Washington. At this point, we have no idea if Lacy will play Sunday against Cincinnati but even if he does, expect Starks to carry the load this week and going forward as long as Starks keeps performing the Packers running back situation has time-share written all over it, meaning that even when Lacy returns, Starks should still get plenty of touches which means he has solid flex potential. Well before I get too long winded let's take a look at the Week 3 Running Back Rankings: 1. Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings vs Browns 2. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Seahawks vs Jaguars  3. James Starks will start this week for the Packers

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced that James Starks will be their starting running back this week. McCarthy says James Starks "will get the starting opportunity this week," regardless of Lacy's status, evidently. #Packers — Jason Wilde (@jasonjwilde) September 18, 2013 Starks played great this past week after coming in for Eddie Lacy who ended up suffering...

Packers should pump the brakes with James Starks

James Starks’ injury history should make the Packers think twice. James Starks put an end to the continued joke that swirled around the Packers by running over, through and around the Redskins. By racking up 132 yards on the ground Starks ended the club’s 51-game streak without a 100-yard back. I’ll admit, as soon as Eddie Lacy went down on the fifth play from scrimmage, I...

James Starks ready to prove himself as starting RB

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It's only Week 3 of the regular season, but the Green Bay Packers are already on Plan C at running back. With DuJuan Harris on injured reserve and Eddie Lacy recovering from a concussion, the Packers are turning to James Starks as their new starter in the backfield. After Starks' 132-yard rushing performance Sunday against Washington, though, Plan C doesn...

Packers roll over Redskins: Is Starks the new man in Green Bay?

It’s not 2011 anymore, but it sure felt like it watching the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers tied a franchise record with 480 yards passing, James Starks became the first Packers running back to surpass 100 yards since Brandon Jackson did so against Washington on Oct. 10, 2010, and the Green Bay defense held Robert Griffin III in check. It all added up to a 38-20 victory...

Starks’ Sideline Collision Tests Rule Change

Rules are always open to interpretation. That’s why Brandon Meriweather’s two collisions against Packers ball-carriers on Sunday are still under the microscope. Read here why Packers running backs coach Alex Van Pelt defended James Starks lowering his head on the second collision.

Jam it or Cram it: Starks Raving Mad – The Bizarro World Edition

Week 2 of the NFL season was like a visit to Bizarro World in the old Superman comics or, for those not comically inclined, the Seinfeld episode where Elaine meets Bizarro Jerry. She had man hands! Those not familiar with the term please note what the scholarly website Uncyclopedia says: “Bizarro World is a situation or setting which is weirdly inverted or opposite of expectations...

Waiver Wire, Week 3: Step Right Up (Again), James Starks

New week, new names. Let’s get right to it. Quarterbacks Philip Rivers, Chargers New offensive system seems to working for Rivers and the Chargers’ passing game so far. Sam Bradford, Rams Is this finally the year?!? I’m so excited. #teamsambradford Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins Posting solid numbers. Consider as a bye week starter only, still. Running Backs James Starks, Packers...
