The running back position has become one of the easiest positions to replace in recent years. This trend is reflected in the free agency market as veteran rushers nearing the age of 30, generate little interest as they did years ago. A rookie running back in the right system can step in and be highly successful right from the start of his career. Two rookie running backs finished in the top-five in the league last season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved back into the end of the first-round and selected Doug Martin, who finished the season with 1,454 rushing yards and 11 scores. The steal of the draft at the running back position has to be Florida Atlantic’s RB Alfred Morris. Morris was selected in the sixth round (173) and finished behind only Adrian Peterson for the most rushing yards in 2012 with 1,613 and 13 scores.
