Round One: Eric Fisher, OT, Michigan  I just don't understand why they took Fisher instead of Joeckel. Fisher is less polished and less experienced. When your drafting the first player of the draft, you can't take someone who has a shot at being a bust. It's not like he had a bigger ceiling than Joeckel either. Fisher is still a solid prospect, but he's just not as good as Joeckel. Personally, I still think the smartest move would have been to move down, but taking Joeckel still would have certainly earned them a better grade. GRADE: C+ Round Three: Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati / Knile Davis, RB, Arkansas Kelce is a decent tight end prospect, but he has many character concerns and it just didn't fill a need for Kansas City. It's not like he was the best player available either. Tight end was also already addressed in free agency with the signing of Fasano. There were plenty of other better players on the board that made more se...

Chiefs expected trade Branden Albert at some point

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the Kansas City Chiefs are still expected trade offensive tackle Branden Albert at some point. Miami general manager Jeff Ireland indicated that everything was pretty much dead on the...

Cabins, trucks and chainsaws: Fisher is country to the core

KANSAS CITY, Mo. If Davy Crockett were still alive today and also happened to be 6-foot-7 with a pair of steam shovels for arms he might be Eric Fisher. The No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft grew up in the woods, drove a beat-up old Ford pickup truck, fought off raccoons, sold firewood, once got a chainsaw as a gift from his Mom, and was raised in a log cabin. Well, OK, so maybe we...

Kansas City Chiefs: 2013 NFL Draft Review

For those who didn’t read my work last year or the year before, I’ll explain that I do not give out a letter grade a day or two after the NFL Draft ends. I think that’s like grading students before they’ve even took the test. What I do, is review if the teams met their draft needs and if not, why. I’ll be taking a look at every pick for every team, excluding undrafted...

That smile will fade once Fisher realizes he is playing for the Chiefs. Since the Patriots did not make a pick in round 1, I thought I would rattle off some quick thoughts about how the first round played out from picks 1 to 32. 1. Eric Fisher is more athletic the Luke Joeckel but you can’t go wrong with either player. Fisher just put the MAC conference and Central Michigan on...
