San Francisco 49ers
Florida State Seminoles
Iowa State Cyclones
First Round: Eric Reid, S, LSU
ANALYSIS: I know San Francisco was going to trade up for someone, but why Reid? I know there's been a lot of buzz around him lately (mostly with the Bengals), but I just don't see him as a first round prospect. I think San Francisco could have stayed put and taken a better safety like Matt Elam. He fills a big need, but I just can't understand trading up for him.
Second Round: Tank Carradine, DE/OLB, Florida State / Vance McDonald, TE, Rice
Solid second round. I absolutely love the selection of Carradine. Many people expected him to go in round one, so this is obviously good value on day two. He's big enough to be the successor to Smith at 3-4 DE, but also athletic enough to be a pass rusher off the edge. They could do wonders with him on defense. I also like the pick of McDonald. After losing Walker, they wanted another tight end to pair with Davis. I think McDonald will end up being an upgrade over Walk...

Living in up to your father's reputation is never easy for any young lad, especially when your dad is a 49er legend, and one of the greatest Quarterbacks in NFL history. Joe Montana shined at Notre Dame and was taken in the 3rd round of the 1979 draft by Bill Walsh and the Niners. It was the beginning of what was to become the greatest dynasty of all time. The 49ers won 4 Super...
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS, Eric Mangini is talking to the San Francisco 49ers about a consulting position. The ex-coach for the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns would be an excellent addition to an already stellar 49er front office. He also could be an insurance policy for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who is quickly becoming a hot commodity for NFL head coaching...
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the San Francisco 49ers are currently talking to former NFL head coach Eric Mangini about possibly being hired as a consultant. The San Francisco 49ers needed just five yards to win the franchise’s sixth Super Bowl, but could not complete a fade route to wide receiver Michael Crabtree on fourth-and-goal.
The results of Super Bowl XLVII still haunt Crabtree.
San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has stated before that he believes wide receiver A.J. Jenkins needs to get in the weight room and add some muscle. “If there’s an area where A.J.’s got to get better in, it’s called the weight room, and he will,” Baalke said, per the Sacramento Bee. “He’s had some unfortunate situations that haven’t allowed him to fully...
According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, free agent wide receiver Randy Moss isn’t sure if he wants to play football this season.
Randy Moss still hasn’t decided if he wants to play next season, I’m told.

Even if Moss ends up wanting to play this season, I can’t imagine anyone will be interested. He’s just an average player...
According to ESPN’s John Clayton, former British Olympic discuss thrower turned NFL defensive lineman, Lawrence Okoye may have a real chance at making the San Francisco 49ers final 53-man roster.
The early word out of San Francisco, though, is that Okoye might have enough pure talent for the 49ers to consider him for the active roster. There is such a good buzz about him that another...
Unemployed wide receiver Randy Moss still hasn’t decided if he wants to play in the NFL this season. A member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team, the 36-year-old Moss wasn’t retained by the San Francisco 49ers after screwing the organization in their 34-31 upset loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. Despite being targeted five times, the 6-foot-4, 210 pound Moss managed...
