Alonso is versatile enough to play either play inside or outside depending style of defensive scheme. Figures to be an inside linebacker for a 3-4, and outside for a 4-3. He is a well-built prospect 6’4, 240, with good athleticism. Earned second team all-conference honors. He recorded 87 total tackles (62 solo, 25 assisted), including 16 tackles of loss, a sack, four interceptions, seven pass deflections and two forced fumbles. The Positive: Alonso shows natural instincts against the run and can run down the football quickly. More of a head on, straight line tackler, at his best when he can run downhill, shoot a gap and meet a ball-carrier in the hole. Tackles solid at the point of contact and can hit hard. The Negative: Has had small injuries in his career and will likely need to build up his durability through the weight room. Often due to his aggressive style of play, He plays too reckless and needs to learn how to play under control in order to last in the NFL. Off-field issue are a concern; charged with a DUI in 2010.  More Videostat Profiles
