While the Washington Redskins made next to no moves to bolster their roster with new talent on the open market, the club did a rock-solid job retaining its players over the last three weeks in 2013 NFL Free Agency.  Let’s take a look at the Redskins’ updated team needs heading into the 2013 NFL Draft (in no particular order). Photo Credit: Redskins.com 1. Defensive Back Josh Wilson is a decent cornerback.  The 5-9, 188-pound corner registered 74 tackles with 1.0 sack, two interceptions and three forced fumbles in 16 games (all starts) in his sixth NFL season (second with the Redskins) in 2012. The team also added E.J. Biggers and brought back DeAngelo Hall in to the fold through free agency.  Biggers, 25, collected his first sack and forced fumble (two total) with 51 tackles and an interception in 12 starts in his fourth season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year.  Meanwhile, Hall, 29, had 95 tackles with 1.0 sack and four INTs in his ninth NFL season. Safety is also a huge prio...

Kirk Cousins trade rumors ramping up

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins had an impressive 2012 rookie campaign as Robert Griffin III’s backup, but he may not be a Redskin for much longer. The recent signings of Rex Grossman and Pat White spell a Kirk Cousins trade coming before the draft. This shouldn’t be new information to most because Cousins was already designated trade bait after his impressive...

Redskins bring back Rex Grossman for another year

According to ProFootballtalk.com, the Washington Redskins are bringing back quarterback Rex Grossman for at least one more year. Grossman is a solid veteran, but I would be surprised if he makes the Redskins’ 53-man roster in August.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName...

Former WVU Quarterback Pat White Signs With The Washington Redskins

wvusports.com The Washington Redskins signed former West Virginia star Pat White earlier this week. If used correctly, White could be a quality backup. Prior to his injury, White spent one season with the Miami Dolphins before having a small stint in professional baseball. After a few years training to get back to the professional circuit, White held a private workout at WVU’s...

Kirk Cousins wants to improve on running the read-option

Washington Redskins back up quarterback Kirk Cousins told the Washington Times that he wants to get better at running the read-option this offseason. “A guy like me, I need to be much more perfect in my ball-handling and in my reads for it to work than maybe a Robert or a Pat White has to be,” Cousins said on 980. “Now that being said, I didn’t have any reps in college with...

Pat White Signs With Redskins, Drops Concussion Lawsuit Against NFL

Former Dolphins second round pick Pat White is banking on his skills as a quarterback, because if the NFL ever settles their concussion lawsuit for a large sum of money, White will get none of it. White after he left the NFL joined more than 4,000 other plaintiffs in a concussion lawsuit against the NFL according to Yahoo Sports. “In the lawsuit, White claimed he suffered permanent...

Push to change the Washington Redskins name continues, again

I am not a fan of the Washington Redskins or owner Daniel Snyder, but I have to applaud his resolve. For several years now, the Redskins franchise has been under attack by groups demanding that the club change the team name. It now appears that the politically correct police have come back for another round while assailing Snyder and forcing him to change the name of the team, he...

Report: Redskins Re-Sign QB Rex Grossman

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Redskins have re-signed QB Rex Grossman. This is a somewhat surprising move given that they just signed Pat White to a one-year deal and already have Kirk Cousins firmly entrenched as Robert Griffin III‘s backup. On top of that, Washington has very limited cap space and is believed to still have interest in free agent CB Antoine Winfield...

In depth 2013: Washington Redskins

On the first drive of the 2012 season for Washington, Robert Griffin III faced pressure in the pocket, stayed calm, took a hit and completed an 88-yard touchdown to Pierre Garcon en route to a 40-32 upset of New Orleans. The Redskins paid a huge price in draft picks when they moved up to select Griffin, but the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner paid immediate dividends, taking the Redskins...

Redskins rumors: Pat White to join Washington

After meeting with the Washington Redskins yesterday, quarterback Pat White is expected to sign a contract with the team today, according to Jim Corbett of USA Today. White, 27, will sign a deal with the Redskins on Wednesday after meeting with team officials Tuesday night, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity...

Grossman agrees to 1-yr deal to return to Redskins

Rex Grossman has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Washington Redskins. Grossman's return gives the Redskins the same trio of quarterbacks as last season, and his veteran presence is an extra piece of insurance in case Robert Griffin III doesn't recover from a serious knee injury by Week 1 in September. Grossman agreed to the deal Wednesday. He's played nine...
