Season SummaryThe 2012 season campaign for the Jets was disaster all around. From the Sanchez/Tebow debacle to the injury of defensive star Darrelle Revis. The Jets season never got off the ground.Despite having a defense that finished 2nd against the pass they were a mess with in the front seven finishing 30th against the run, and what at times looked like one of the worst offenses in history, finished 30th passing and 12th in rushing. The offense last year was severely dismantled by the lack of production from Mark Sanchez who only completed 54 percent of his passes and throwing 18 interceptions and the lack the of a true No. 1 receiver. The Jets' season ended up being a myriad of sporadic offensive play as they weren't able to score more than 20 points the final five weeks of the season and only scored more than 20 points five times.2012 Record: 6-10 2-4 AFC EAST (3rd)Positions of Need: QB, ILB, OLB, S, CB, DEFirst-Round Targets: The lack of a top-tier QB in this Draft makes this defense a top priority in the first round. One option at their pick would be a player like Alec Ogletree despite the personal problems, the potential for this player exceeds most defensive players in this Draft. If Jarvis Jones would happen to slip to their pick it would be a no-brainer to tag him. Other options include DE Bjoern Werner -- he is would be great fit who could greatly help fill the need for a pass rusher on this team. Team(s) That Could Vulture Pick: Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles' defense last year had similar problems containing the run and would be intent on matching up Ryans with an OLB like Jarvis Jones. The Cleveland Browns would definitely be upgraded by either Ogletree or Jones. Trade Winds: The likelihood that Revis is dealt is 50/50, but it is more likely that he could be traded before the Draft. Teams interested include the Bucs, Eagles and 49ers. The package in return for Revis could be in the form of 1st and 2nd round draft picks in this and or next year’s Draft.First Round Pick Rundown-2008-2012:2012: DE Quinton Coples, North Carolina2011: DT Muhammad Wilkerson, Temple2010: CB Kyle Wilson, Boise State2009: QB Mark Sanchez, USC2008 DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State
