Six weeks have come and gone and the 2013 NFL power rankings for Week 7 are rather interesting. First off, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos didn’t slam Jacksonville as expected. But a win is a win is a win. Obviously the Jaguars had extra incentive to play better than ever, especially as four touchdown underdogs. That said, Denver remains unbeaten, but also has weaknesses. Keeping up with Denver are the Kansas City Chiefs. K.C. certainly looks like the more complete team as well. Fielding a much better defense and rushing attack, the Chiefs have the perfect personnel for knocking off the Broncos. The major advantage for Denver is Manning. Those are your top two, the remainder of pro football, though, feels much more wide open.   1. Denver Broncos 6-0, (last week: 1) Denver wasn’t going to beat Jacksonville by four touchdowns. This is the NFL and the Jaguars had plenty of motive to fend off the cynics. We’ll find out this week how much of an impact Von Miller will have in his re...

Indy veterans hope to slow down Manning's Broncos

Robert Mathis and Reggie Wayne have seen Peyton Manning's high-flying act. As longtime teammates, they played a part in Manning's gaudy stats, record-breaking quests and even the distracting pursuits of perfection. This week, as outsiders, they will put all that inside knowledge to use as Andrew Luck and the Colts try to derail Manning and the unbeaten Broncos. '&...

Von Miller: ‘I’m working hard to gain everybody’s trust back’

Von Miller has completed his six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, and now the Denver Broncos linebacker hopes to put his off-the-field issues behind him. “I definitely made mistakes in the past, but it wouldn’t do anybody any good to go back and defend that stuff,” Miller said Monday. “I’ve already served my suspension. The Chiefs are the most dangerous team no one is talking about

Starting a season 6-0 in the NFL is an impressive feat that usually results in media hype leading into every game. “Will Team X stay unbeaten as they travel to City Y to play Team Y?” With just two perfect teams left in the NFL, one would believe both those teams would garner a large segment on ESPN leading up to each game. If that’s what you’d believe would happen, you’d...

There’s surprises here and there, but for the most part the MVP race hasn’t...

Colts' new "model" still has flaws

Colts owner Jim Irsay’s statements about the Colts of the past and the new model the team has pursued have drawn the ire of many, including Peyton Manning’s current head coach John Fox and former Colts general manager Bill Polian.
