Trailing 28-6 after a kickoff return for a touchdown by Jacoby Jones, the San Francisco 49ers were in the midst of a blowout in Super Bowl XLVII. A game that hadn't seen a true blowout in 10 years when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers crushed the Oakland Raiders seemed destined for a similar outcome. But a mysterious power outage (which some say was caused by Beyonce's electrifying halftime performance) seemingly allowed the Niners to regain composure. They promptly went on to score 17 straight points to make a game of it. But a desperation drive stalled inside the 10-yard line in the waning moments, and they fell to Baltimore 34-31 in what turned out to be another thrilling Super Bowl. As San Francisco prepares for the upcoming season in which many consider them the favorites to not only get back to the big game, but actually win it all, they do so with the sting of a tough Super Bowl defeat in the back of their minds. However, optimism is as high as it's been in a while for ...

Colin Kaepernick tells Jaws to pump the brakes on the high praise

Colin Kaepernick might be one of the smarter football players in the NFL.  After getting a huge praise from former NFL QB Ron Jaworski, Kaepernick was honored, but he basically said his job is not done. Wednesday Ron Jaworski said ”Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever,” on ESPN. “I love his skill set. […]

San Francisco 49ers: Takeaways from Niners vs. Vikings

Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers’ defense continue to shine as they beat the Minnesota Vikings 34-14 in week 3 of the preseason.  Kaepernick started a bit slow but ended his night going a perfect six for six on an eleven play drive that ended with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Patton.  The 49ers defense looked as stingy as ever creating a fumble on the Vikings’...

Colin Kaepernick flattered by Jaw’s comments

On Wednesday,  ESPN’s Ron Jaworski stated that he believes Colin Kaepernick has a chance to be the best quarterback ever in the NFL. Kaepernick appreciates Jaw’s comment, but he knows he has plenty of work to do. “I’m working,” he responded, via ESPN.com. “To me, it’s a great honor he said that. I’m very flattered by it. But at the same time, I haven’t played a...

Can Colin Kaepernick become "one of the greatest quarterbacks ever"?

ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski made headlines this week when he suggested that third-year San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick -- who has only seven career regular-season starts to his name -- "could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever." That, of course, is a ridiculously lofty statement. Kaepernick had a fantastic season after...

Ron Jaworski: ‘Colin Kaepernick Could Be One Of The Greatest QBs Ever’

Ron Jaworski was a pretty decent NFL quarterback, and he likes to deem himself an elite evaluator of talent at the position. Jaworski has raised eyebrows before with his comments about quarterbacks, and really has the axle spinning with remarks he made about 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Jaworski while talking to the Associated Press, said that “Kaepernick cold be one of...

Ron Jaworski: Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever

There are two things that I’m beginning to notice about ESPN NFL Analyst Ron Jaworksi. He likes to make very strong statements about quarterbacks in the NFL. Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick? The ongoing debate

Which QB Will Be Remembered? “Heroes are remembered, but legends never die.” This is the classic quote from The Babe in the movie The Sandlot. It states that heroic acts can define a moment in time, but being a hero can define a person — making them legendary. The Seattle Seahawks‘ Russell Wilson and the 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick have fallen into one of the most unique situations...

Kaepernick, 49ers down Vikings

The familiar formula that carried San Francisco back to the Super Bowl last season for the first time in 18 years is on display again. Colin Kaepernick marched the offense with six straight completions during a series that ended with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Patton, and Aldon Smith and Justin Smith plowed through Minnesota's offensive line to make plays and hard-hitting...

49ers trying to trade Colt McCoy, could be released

Less than six months after trading for quarterback Colt McCoy, the San Francisco 49ers are making calls to ship the four-year veteran out. If the 49ers are unable to make a trade, they will probably release McCoy,
