This pick is not much of a surprise. The Rams released Orlando Pace and hope to strike lightning in a bottle once again with Baylor OT Jason Smith. Smith is a former TE with great athleticism and is a prototype franchise LT. He may take a year or two to reach full potential because of his switch to o-line only three years ago. The athletic ability and the drive are there for Smith to succeed and the Rams should be getting their next Pro Bowl blindside protector for QB Marc Bulger.
