No one is surprised that Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder hates the New York Giants, or that Mike Shanahan hates the debilitating salary cap penalty imposed on his team by the NFL.
And, by now, no one should be surprised that Robert Griffin III and the Redskins are playoff contenders.
There was all sorts of passion on display before, during and after the Redskins' 17-16 Monday night win over the Giants. Snyder was heard using a profane word to describe the NFC East rivals while congratulating players and staff in the locker room, and Washington's coaches used quotes from New York owner John Mara about the cap penalties to motivate the players.
What matters is who won, of course, and the Redskins are now closing in on first place.

Because Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III were the No. 1 and 2 overall picks in the draft, it’s understandable that they’re generating the most hype. But don’t forget the rookie quarterback that everyone doubted that’s playing out in the Pacific Northwest, who’s putting up just as many wins and impressive stats.
Russell Wilson may not have the Olympic-level speed that...

It Was Over When... On third and three with just over one minute left in regulation, the Redskin called TB Alfred Morris' number for the 22nd and final time of the game and he plowed over the left side of the offensive line, gashing through the Giants defense and diving forward for six yards. It was first down and the Redskins and Robert Griffin...
