For the first time in more than a decade, the Eagles will begin full team offseason training with a coach besides Andy Reid. Reid was fired following a dismal 4-12 season, which included a losing streak that covered three months. With Reid’s departure comes the arrival of Chip Kelly. Kelly became known as an offensive genius in his stint at Oregon, while leading the Ducks to four straight BCS Bowl appearances. Following the draft and free agency, there is excitement in Philly for the Eagles to get back on the field. Kelly’s teams have always been very athletic and it seems this will not change with his jump to the NFL. 1.     Lane Johnson – Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma With the fourth overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft, the Eagles selected Johnson. Johnson has had a very interesting football career. He played quarterback at a Junior College then transitioned to tight end at Oklahoma before finally settling as an offensive tackle. Although he is a lineman, Johnson should still be one of the best athletes on the field. He is a complete freak, at the combine his 40-time was faster than Anquan Boldin and his vertical jump was the same as AJ Green. This is simply amazing coming from a 6-6 300-pound lineman. Johnson seems perfect for Kelly’s high paced offense and it will be interesting to see where he sits on the depth chart once the season draws closer. 2. Earl Wolfe – Safety, North Carolina State The Eagles’ secondary has been abysmal the last few seasons. The play at the safety position has been mediocre at best, and the front office has addressed this concern throughout the offseason. The Eagles have signed two former starting safeties in Patrick Chung (Oregon alum( and injury prone Kenny Phillips. The Eagles also drafted Earl Wolfe in the 5th round of the draft. While the ACC does not have tremendous competition, Wolfe had a solid career as a three-year starter. His senior season he finished with a team-high 145 tackles and was named First-team All-ACC. As the Eagles look for consistency in the secondary, Wolfe could be the guy they are looking for. 3. Ifeanyi Momah – Wide Receiver, Boston College While the Eagles have pretty solid depth at receiver, Momah is a very intriguing signing. He is 6-7 and ran a 4.4 forty-yard dash for scouts prior to his signing. Momah could be the red-zone target the Eagles have been lacking for years. If Momah stays healthy and makes the final roster, he could add a new dimension to the Eagles passing game. Momah’s career at Boston College was cut short due to a serious knee injury during the 2011 season opener.  While he may be a long shot to make the team, a receiver with his size and speed is hard not to keep an eye on. -Schlechter

Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Lineman Evan Mathis Wants to be Audited by the IRS

This is funny. I'll give Evan Mathis that. However, at the same time I don't think it was a very wise thing to do. It doesn't matter if he actually did or not the message that he is trying to get across by looking like he is urinating on an IRS sign is pretty clear (totally makes me think of those Calvin decals). Hopefully for his sake the IRS is not feeling vindictive...
