Here are the results and recaps from tonights' first round games

Ferndale 42 West Seattle 3
West Seattle got handled. Casey Locker ran for three touchdowns and the Ferndale defense held West Seattle to a sole field goal in the 1st quarter. Overall, a great season for West Seattle. They upset O'Dea and sat atop the Metro league for most of the season with Eastside Catholic and O'Dea. Ferndale now will face a stiff test against another undefeated squad, Union
Prediction: Correct

Union 34 Timberline 14
A dark horse team to make it to the state championship, they will face top ranked Ferndale in a battle of the unbeatens next weekend.
Prediction: Correct

Eastside Catholic 13 Mount Si 12
It seems like this Eastside Catholic has an extremely difficult time losing a game. Down 7-6, with under a minute left in the game, Marion Bactol returned a kickoff 68 yards. Keep in mind, this is nothing new for Bactol, who has all of a sudden become the high school version Dante Hall this season by continually having unprecdented success returning kicks.

Okay, back to the game. Anyways, Zach Cuaresma threw a 13 yard pass to his teammate, Spencer Esau to win the game...Fairy tale ending, right? It's hard for me to comprehend how this team is doing what they're doing. They're one of the smallest teams I've ever seen, but this has made no difference. This team is special, but next week they'll face the most difficult team they've faced so far this season, Lakes.
Prediction: Correct

Lakes 21 O'Dea 16

This year wasn't going to be another O'Dea free ride to the championship. There was something different about this year's Irish team. After losing against West Seattle earlier in the season, O'Dea didn't look like they were impossible to beat anymore. With that said, there's a good chance O'Dea will return to its' dominatitive self next season. On the other hand, a nice gritty win for Lakes, preparaing them for another Metro team, the Eastside Catholic Crusaders.
Prediction: Correct

Liberty 21 Kennedy 17
At first this game looked like it was turning into a typical Kennedy blowout. Tre Watson and Nolan Washington both scored touchdowns in the 1st half going into halftime with a 17-0 lead. However, Liberty came back with fire in the 2nd half, scoring 21 points in the 2nd half, which is all they would need to upset Kennedy. Liberty now has earned the honors to face off against the best class 3A team, Bellevue.
Prediction: Wrong

Bellevue 35 Lindbergh 6
Lindbergh didn't stand a chance. They were outmatched by a much more talented and stronger squad. I have a good feeling Bellevue will roll over Liberty next week.
Prediction: Correct

East Valley 17 Mount Spokane 14
I flipped a coin for this one and it was Mount Spokane, however East Valley won so that is another
FAILed prediction
