After narrowly beating the Seattle Seahawks at home Thursday night, 49ers guard Alex Boone thinks he knows why.

"We just kind of felt them start to give up a little bit, and they knew that we were just going to keep running the ball on them," he told the Seattle Times. "They're a tough team, very physical team, one of the best run defenses, so we knew we had to bring it."

And it seems bringing it is what they did. The 49ers basically owned the second half. The only TD of the game capped off an 86-yard, 10-play clock-killing 6 minute plus drive that ended in a TD when receiver Delanie Walker smartly got his foot within bounds inside the pylon.

Boone pointed to the success of the running game that wore the Seahawks down. Frank Gorehad 131 rushing yards (8.2 yds/carry), the team as a whole, 175.

"Hard running, physical football," Boone said. "That's what we knew we had to do in this game."
