49ers-Broncos: DE Kemoko Turay ruled out due to a personal matter
Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have downgraded Kemoko Turay's status for Sunday night's game against the Denver Broncos. The defensive end has officially been ruled out for Week 3.

The 49ers explained that Turay has been excused to "address a personal matter."

Turay was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad on September 14. However, he was among the five players inactive for Week 2's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Another defensive lineman, Arik Armstead, remains "questionable" to play in Sunday night's action. He suffered a foot injury in last week's game and has not practiced since then.
