Trust me, I was just as shocked as you were to find out that Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh was a fan—nay, a superfan—of the acerbic and sharp-tongued Judge Judy, but perhaps Harbaugh sees a kindred spirit in the feisty television barrister. I do know that Jim and his father Jack took in a taping of Judge Judy’s show, and from the looks of things, coach Harbaugh had more fun than he did the day he had to pretend to be Screech Powers’ cousin on Saved by the Bell: The New Class. Of course anything would be better than spending a day with the uber-annoying Dustin Diamond, up to and including getting a prostate exam from Edward Scissorhands. Harbaugh and his dad attended the June 3rd taping of Judge Judy, which aired at 7:30 p.m. the same night, and as you can see from this clip here, he enjoys laughing with Judge Judy, and not at her, like the rest of the free world does… Harbaugh’s presence on the show probably would have gone unnoticed were it not for the diligent effort of the San Francisco 49ers Twitter account, which alerted everyone to tune in to the show to see the team’s head coach geeking out to some sweet television justice… Jim Harbaugh recently attended a taping of Judge Judy. That episode airs tonight at 7:30 PT on CBS. http://t.co/qcSH88xqfV #Niners365 — San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) June 3, 2013 Here’s what Harbaugh had to say about his TV idol (via sfist.com)… “That’s big … to me. I’m a big fan of the Judge Judy show,” Harbaugh said. “And when you lie in Judge Judy’s courtroom, it’s over. Your credibility is completely lost. You stand no chance of winning that case. So, I learned that from her And it’s very powerful … and true. Because if somebody does lie to you, how can you ever trust anything they ever… say after that? But, I think there’s, and then.” Having never been inside the 49ers locker room, one can only assume that there’s a giant picture of Judge Judy on the wall emblazoned with the words “Play Like a Rageaholic TV Judge Today” to help inspire the Niners to victory.
