San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Justin Smith says he’s coming along good after having surgery on his triceps.
He hasn’t been able to participate in full football activities, but after the torn triceps injury that limited him at the end of 2012, he has started putting his rehab behind him.
He says he’s still not 100 percent and the expectation is Smith will hit that goal by the start of training camp and that he’ll take on a full workload once camp is starts.
"I thought it went pretty well," Smith said, via Cam Inman of the Mercury News.
"They went in, repaired it. The strength and everything came back pretty good."
"I'm real close, feel good about it," Smith added. "Still have about six more weeks (until training camp), so I should be right on schedule. ... You just want to be back to 100 percent, at your all-time best whatever you feel strength-wise. I'm probably about a month off from that."
