49ers elevate DT Akeem Spence to active roster ahead of Broncos game
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Per the NFL transaction wire, the San Francisco 49ers have elevated defensive tackle Akeem Spence from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. It is a "standard elevation," meaning he will return to the practice squad following the game.

San Francisco signed Spence to a one-year deal in August.

Defensive tackle Arik Armstead did not practice this week after suffering a foot injury in Week 2's win over the Seattle Seahawks. On Friday's status report, he and tackle Colton McKivitz (ankle) were listed as "questionable" for Week 3. There has been no change to the designations.

Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (hamstring), running back Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle), and tight end Tyler Kroft (knee) were the three players ruled out of this weekend's action.
