Already losing starter Isaac Sopoaga to the Eagles and with backup Ricky Jean Francois not expected to return, the 49ers filled the nose tackle vacancy with former Chiefs D-lineman Glenn Dorsey.
After meeting with the 49ers earlier on Wednesday, Dorsey agreed to a two-year deal reportedly worth up to $7 million.
Dorsey was drafted fifth overall by the Chiefs and 2008 and has not panned out as expected, with just four sacks in 66 career games. The 297-pounder played in just four games in 2012 because of a calf injury.
