The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they’ve hired form Raiders wide receiver Ronald Curry as an offensive assistant coach. “The 49ers and our staff are pleased to be initiating Ronald’s NFL coaching career,” said 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh. “Our team will greatly benefit from Ronald’s athletic experiences, and we are happy that he and his wife, Stacie, are joining our football family.” Curry, 33, a seven-year NFL veteran, played in 76 games (32 starts) and registered 193 receptions for 2,347 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Oakland Raiders. He is reunited with 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was an offensive assistant on the Raiders staff from 2002-03, and 49ers wide receivers coach John Morton, who held the same position with the Raiders in 2002. Although Curry enters just his first year of professional coaching, he has studied under Hall of Famers Fred Biletnikoff (2003-06) and James Lofton (2008).
