The San Francisco 49ers’ find themselves remarkably healthy heading into the first week of the regular season. The defending NFC champs have only two names appearing on their injury report as of Thursday evening. Unfortunately, both players can be very effective and their status for this weekend is not looking good. Running back LaMichael James is the first player on the list. He has not practiced yet this week and probably won’t be active this weekend against Green Bay. James finds himself in a crowded backfield this season, but he brings a unique explosiveness out of the backfield that the coaching staff finds intriguing. Plus, he can bring a dynamic element to the 49ers’ special teams as a return man. The other player on the 49ers’ injury report is veteran cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who was acquired by San Francisco this offseason via free agency. Asomugha recently won the 49ers’ No. 3 cornerback job and is expected to provide some veteran leadership to an already talented secondary. Asomugha was limited in practice both Wednesday and Thursday making his participation this weekend more likely. Below are the players listed on the injury report found on the San Francisco 49ers’ official web page. CB Nnamdi Asomugha (Collarbone) – Limited Participant in Practice RB LaMichael James (Knee) – Did Not Participate in Practice Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?
