According to ProFootballWeekly.com,the San Francisco 49ers feel like both C.J. Spillman and Daniel Kilgore are future starters. This means they may not end up working on a new contract for both safety Dashon Goldson and center Jonathan Goodwin.
“Two big reasons why we hear the 49ers don’t appear to be in a great rush to re-sign FS Dashon Goldson and C Jonathan Goodwin, both of whom are entering their contract years, are the backups behind them — C.J. Spillman and Daniel Kilgore, respectively. Team sources tell us both Spillman and Kilgore are considered future starters,” wrote PFW.
Goldson will be a free agent after this season and Goodwin still has another year left on his current deal. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out.

According to Matt Barrows the 49ers are going to sign former Cardinals and Steelers defender Clark Haggans. Haggans was released on Friday and will sign with the team Sunday pending a physical.
Currently the 49ers have only three outside linebackers, so adding Haggans will give them some more depth on the line and give Brooks, Haralson and Aldon Smith rest from time to time.
Heading into the 2012 season, it was apparent that this version of
Stanford football might mirror Jim Harbaugh's 2011 San Francisco
49ers. The Cardinal would have to win some games in "bar fight"
No contest here. The 49ers went 13-3 last season and finished a fumbled punt short of the Super Bowl. The offense is better and the defense is just as good as it was. The rest of the division is in catch-up mode for the time being.
