49ers pregame

Today, I wrote about the 49ers' offensive philosophy. Offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye said before the season he wanted to run the ball 60-percent of the time. Of course, they haven't come close to that, but the 49ers are running the ball 58 percent on first-and-10 situations. * * * 49ers inactives Nate Davis (3rd QB), WR Micheal Spurlock, RS Allen Rossum, RB Frank Gore, S Curtis Taylor, S Reggie Smith, C Cody Wallace and DL Ricky Jean-Francois. Brandon Jones and Jason Hill will make their 49ers season debuts. Arnaz Battle will see return duties. Rams inactives Marc Bulger (3rd QB), WR Nate Jones, CB Ron Bartell, S James Butler, G Roger Allen III, T Jason Smith, DE Victor Adeyanju, DT Darell Scott. Kyle Boller wills start for Bulger; Justin King starts at CB for Bartell, and Adam Goldberg takes over at RT for Jason Smith, the No. 2 overall pick. * * *
