49ers quarterback Alex Smith was cleared for a return to non-contact drills on Wednesday.
Smith was wearing a black jersey, signaling no contact, Wednesday afternoon, putting him on track for a return in time for Mondays game at Candlestick Park against the Chicago Bears. Smith suffered a concussion in Sundays tie against the St. Louis Rams.
Alex Smith suffered from blurred vision against the Rams, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. He had nausea and headaches but those symptoms subsided on Monday and he saw a neurologist.
Jay is getting better, Bears coach Lovie Smith said. That is all I can say right now. I am not going to go into exactly each step he has taken and things like that and I think you can understand why. We will be back out on the practice field tomorrow. We can give you a little bit better idea of where he is then. Source: National Football Post Attached Thumbnails
