49ers’ RB Brandon Jacobs Running At ‘Full Bore’ Once Again - Brandon Jacobs (knee) was reportedly running 60-yard dashes “full bore” in triple-degree weather at the 49ers’ facility on Tuesday. Jacobs has pronounced himself “ready to play,” and may immediately slot in as San Francisco’s go-to guy on short-yardage downs. Through four weeks, the 49ers rank 22nd in the league in converting third downs into firsts, and Jacobs was successful on 17-of-24 chances on short-yardage run plays with the Giants last season. The San Francisco Chronicle calls that “a major reason why the 49ers signed him.” Jacobs’ return is a threat to Frank Gore’s scoring potential. Original Story Here!

49ers' Carlos Rogers says Jets defense quit

49ers giving other teams new things to think about

Greg Roman is giving the rest of the NFL something extra to think about it when it's time to play the San Francisco 49ers. Roman doesn't like to call them trick plays, but the offensive coordinator's creative play selection last week sparked the 49ers to their most productive performance of the season during a 34-0 rout of the New York Jets. Mixing in a collection of...

49ers LB NaVorro Bowman, CB Carlos Rogers, NT Isaac Sopoaga Limited At Practice

Not to jinx anything but the 49ers look healthier than they’ve been since offseason workouts began in mid-April. On Thursday, linebacker NaVorro Bowman was practicing for a second straight day in a black, no-contact jersey, apparently because of a shoulder strain. It does not appear to be hindering him, however, and that looked to be the case in this pass coverage against tight...

Buccaneers Sign Ex-49ers TE Nate Byham, Release DE Jeff Charleston

The Bucs have signed former 49ers tight end Nate Byham, who played at the University of Pittsburgh under current Tampa Bay tight ends coach Brian Angelico. Jets Coach Rex Ryan Responds To 49er CB Carlos Rogers' Quitting Comments

49ers wary of Bills’ versatility, playmakers on offense

The San Francisco 49ers on Sunday face another passing offense and another mobile quarterback, two elements that have given them problems this year. Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown 12 touchdowns this season, the most in the league through four weeks, and those 12 have come in just 72 completions. He is also a run threat and is somewhat similar in style to Minnesota...

49ers achieve many firsts in win against Jets

The 49ers manhandled the Jets on Sunday in a 34-0 victory. Yet the team had quite a few first time occasions on each side of the ball to propel them to the big win. The biggest note for firsts in this game is quarterback Colin Kaepernick's first career touchdown. The second year backup scored his first touchdown in the second quarter of the game on a read option run. This was...

Former Bills player, Whitner blames management for losses

Donte Whitner, the former Buffalo Bills safety, knows all to well what losing to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots feels like.
