San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore expects to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals despite hyperextending his right knee last week.
Gore, who was hurt in a win over the New York Giants, returned to practice. He said the knee has healed enough to allow him to face the Cardinals.
Gore was held to zero yards on six carries vs. the Giants because of the injury, snapping a streak of five consecutive 100-yard games on the ground.
The two-time Pro Bowler needs just 149 rushing yards to become the franchise's all-time leader.
The 49ers have won seven in a row and lead the NFC West by five games.
